"This is the 2nd house that I've had Matt and his team install fencing to enclose my backyard. He made it all even easy and worry free. The installation transpired without any issues. It took 2 days to install. When they were done, it was like the fence was always there. No debris, it was all cleaned up and ready to enjoy."

"Great experience from start to finish. Tim did a good job with the estimate, explaining what he would do, the materials he would use, and why. MHI was not the low bid, but Tim's professionalism with the estimate made me confident that MHI would do the job correctly. We experienced a massive fishfly invasion the day Tim's team came to do the painting. Tim decided to take the removable pieces back to the shop to do the work. (This meant adding a round trip from St Clair Shores to Troy to the job). They used blowers and built a plastic tent around the one load bearing post that could not be removed to keep it fishfly free during the process. The repainted shutters and porch trim look great!"

"We recently bought a home that had foreclosed. The previous owners had stopped taking care of the house for a long time. It has a large paver walk way and stairs to the front door as well as a walk way to the back yard. The pavers were sinking in areas, weeds were growing between them and some were loose.
Nosh made them look like they were brand new. The improvement is truly amazing! He fit us into his schedule immediately. Nosh doesn't skimp on materials and uses the highest quality product. He is prompt, thoughtful and generous. Nosh is very fair with his price and stands behind his work.

"The project went really well, and I couldn't be happier. Just as I requested, the new railing looks exactly like the old railing. There were some issues with installing it into the existing concrete steps, and Rick Gleason found a solution that really worked well. The new railing is sturdy and looks great."

"These guys are great, and I am a tough sell. The energy audit was really informative. I learned a lot about my 1970s home, and definitely got a lot of info that Charles didn't have to take the time to go through with me. After spending a couple hours in my home, Charles made recommendations based on my goals of increasing the energy efficiency of our house. On the days that Charles and his crew were out to complete the work, they were very careful to make sure they covered all areas with plastic (and took extra time to tape them down) so we wouldn't get dust and insulation all over the house. Most importantly, these guys do good work and stand behind it. It has been 2 weeks since the work was completed, and I can already tell that there is a big difference in my home. In about 4 more weeks, I should be getting $700 in rebates that Charles took the time to fill out the paperwork for. I'm thrilled, and will continue to tell people to use Brand New Construction.

"We first had A-1 do our roof about 2 months ago. We decided, since we loved their work to also have A-1 do our siding. What a great decision! No regrets at all! The work is A-1! Ken and Chris are a couple of very hard working guys with an eye for detail! I can't express how pleased we are! Very professional; nice guys to work with! Keep up the great work! I am impressed!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Goats need at least 250 square feet of space each, but that’s if you’re also supplementing hay. Since goats are social animals, you’ll want to avoid renting only one goat, which would take a long time to clear your land, anyway. Instead, opt for at least two goats per 500 square feet of land. Most rental companies will only rent out goats by the acre, but check your local goat rental companies to see if they make exceptions.

There’s no definitive answer to this question because dog owners and experts are conflicted about the efficacy and morality of electric fences. However, physical fences are typically considered a better option since they provide guaranteed containment for your pup, provided they are tall enough, and your dog can’t dig under them. Physical fences can also provide privacy, which might stop your dog from barking at people or animals walking by. Physical dog fences tend to be more expensive, but most homeowners find them to be a better option overall.

The most common type of metal fence today is one made of either steel or aluminum. These materials are relatively easy to fabricate, making them much more cost-effective than traditional metal fencing handmade from wrought iron. They’re also much lighter and easier to install, contributing to their affordability and making them more DIY-friendly.

While they can be closer, the maximum distance between fence posts for residential fences is 8 feet. This ensures the panels are adequately supported by the fence posts. This is usually dictated by the width of the panel, which is typically between 5 and 8 feet. While narrower panels will require more posts, they’ll be lighter and easier to work with than wider panels that are the same height.

To maintain a chain link fence and extend its lifespan, perform routine checks and cleaning. This includes inspecting for rust, tightening any loose bolts or hardware, and removing debris buildup. These steps help preserve the fence's appearance and function.
