Clean & Green Dryer Vent Experts LLC is owned and operated by a Michigan family. Lead technician Tim is certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America (www.CSIA.Com) in Dryer vent cleaning, maintenance and repair. Tim is also a licensed builder of the State of Michigan. Tim serves as a proctor for the CSIA and monitors testing and certification of others interested in becoming a certified dryer exhaust technician. We do residential and commercial, single family or multi unit complexes. We are a full service dryer venting and maintenance company. We are fully insured. We wear clean uniforms, drive a clearly marked vehicle and wear photo Identification from the CSIA. For your safety never allow anyone into your home who fails to present proper photo id. A nationally known advocate for safe dryer vents, Mr. Joe Gagnon, has often had Tim as a guest on his radio program, The Appliance Doctor. Joe has often stated that many lives have been saved by Clean & Green. Thousands of house fires occur each year because of a dryer exhaust or chimney that simply was not maintained properly. Many people purchase a new washer and dryer only to have the delivery service connect the dryer to the vent with a foil transition which is illegal and unsafe. Many people call for service to their dryer, the appliance technician most likely changes a part, closes up the machine and leaves. The lint on the bottom of the dryer is left behind…almost always. A dryer must be vented to the outside of a building by law. Not into a garage, not into a bucket with water inside, and not into your attic. The majority of Dryers are heated using natural gas which produces Carbon Monoxide when it leaves the dryer thus must be vented outside. Dryer venting seems to be almost an afterthought to home builders. They go up and out of the roof, they go out the second floor siding, they may travel seventy feet across the basement and go out through the wall. We measure the air velocity at the termination found on the outside of the home, then we measure the air velocity at the dryer. If there is a tremendous difference we may take a backpressure reading as well. In most cases where there is a big difference between the air velocity on the outside and back of the dryer, or if your backpressure is excessive. Obviously your dryer vent needs to be cleaned out from end to end, however house fires do not start inside of a dryer vent! They start inside of your dryer. When you press the on button if you listen you will hear a “Click, Whoosh” type of noise. That is the click of the igniter inserting a little spark into the spray of natural gas and the whoosh is the resulting ignition of that gas. Bad things happen when the dryer vent is plugged and lint accumulates by the inch all over the bottom of your dryer until it’s three or four inches thick and then the whoosh noise can light the whole dryer on fire before you can walk out of your laundry room. Please contact us at 734-377-4175 to schedule your appointment today.

"Tim is a consummate professional. He is a stand-up guy who does not try to sell you products or services you don't need. Tim is the type of contractor that's a needle in the haystack find - he knows his industry and job, he's thorough and efficient, and his pricing is fair."

"Terrible experience spent so much money with a guaranteed warranty for accepted job only to find he wasn't so nice and polite once I pointed out issues with incoming water issues remain the same, as if no work had been done. His own worker told me alone in private "I told him more should have been done." Joseph Safie aka Joey Safie works under Licensed Number 2102196780, which is SAS Services, Inc. - Don't let him scream at you when you have a warranty problem or bully you telling you that you have the wrong company, review the license on contract. The company is licensed under SAS Services, Inc - check out reviews under that name. Joey refused to honor his promise on workmanship or warranty, and only offered to charge me thousands more with no proof of drainage connection on work performed. Zero Integrity and Honor of Workmanship. Don't endure the drama of his Jekyl and Hyde persona of this contractor that works under licensed name SAS Services, Inc. "Completely rebuilt our 26-year-old wood burning mason fireplace to bring it up to code. In the firebox completely removed fire brick from back and both side walls. completely removed clay flue and replaced with insulated stainless steel. This included adding a lever operated lock top damper and stainless-steel exterior flue cap. Much time was spent adding chamber tech 2000 parge coating to the smoke chamber. Kevon and his two workers were excellent. All details on steps being taken were clearly explained. All carpeting was protected from the front door to the work area in the family room. All debris was removed from the job site. This was a big job that took two days to complete. Am following the recommended wait time and break in steps to be taken. It is comforting to know that we have a completely safe fireplace that is up to code. Looking forward on having Doctor Flue perform annual chimney sweeps during the off season. Fireplace Cleaners questions, answered by experts

If you’re deciding between limewash versus whitewash, know that both have a chalky matte appearance. Limewash is made from lime, water, and sometimes pigment, while whitewash consists of lime, water, white chalk, and binders (though you can get a similar look with watered-down white paint). Whitewash has fewer options for color customization, and it sits on surfaces instead of being absorbed into them, which can trap moisture. Whitewashing costs less—about $1.40 to $4.20 per square foot.

Limewash and whitewash often appear together in a quick search when looking for ways to paint brick—so, what’s the difference? Limewash paint is one of the most natural and environmentally friendly ways to paint brick. It’s made from limestone and water, giving it an off-white appearance that looks similar to whitewash. However, limewash is semi-permanent, whereas whitewash is a more permanent, watered-down version of existing paint.

Both brick paint options are economical and light in color, but if you want to change the appearance of your home’s brick in the future, then limewash might be a better option.

Yes, you can limewash surfaces other than brick. Plaster, stone, stucco, and concrete can all also be limewashed. Any porous surface that will absorb the wash is a good candidate for limewash, although it won’t help much with waterproofing. If you choose to limewash over paint, you’ll need to prep before applying it to avoid a powdery, chalky finish. Shiny surfaces like metal or glass can’t absorb limewash, so it’s not suited for these.

If you already have the tools, like a miter saw, a stud finder, and a nail gun or hammer, installing shiplap costs $500 to $1,000 for supplies. You’ll also spend $200 to $2,200 for the cost of an electric fireplace if you decide to add one into your setup.

You can also hire a carpenter for $35 to $100 per hour, plus the cost of materials, to install shiplap around your fireplace. If you need help installing a fireplace before adding the shiplap, labor can cost $225 to $2,180 for fireplace installation costs

You can turn a red brick white through a process called whitewashing. Whitewash isn’t a stain but rather is made from water and white latex paint. Adding more water to the mix will make the solution look lighter when applied, and adding more paint will make it look more white.
