"They were great to work with from beginning to end. They had a rep come out quickly to inspect our house and gave us several options on how we could proceed after our lower level flooded. He discussed what we should consider and helped us pick out the right scope of work for our house and budget. When their team came to do the work, they were professional, handled the job quickly and respectively (which was a huge plus as we had a toddler in the house at the time). They sealed off the part of the house they were working on to limit any dust/dirt from where they were working getting anywhere else. We were very impressed. Our house is a tri-level, so having them waterproof ensured we got to use all our house as intended. Our downstairs is our main family area, and we use it now with no worries. We've had some huge rain events since we our work was done (Fall 2013), and never had any issues. I would highly recommend. - DS, Middlebury, Indiana"

"When you hire someone to do a major project like reworking your basement so it doesn't flood, you hope that they 1. solve the problem and 2. stand by their work. Our situation was challenging in that it took a few tries and commitment to solve the problem. Acculevel stood by their work 120% which is not an exaggeration. When their initial solution unfortunately did not work as well as planned, the level of care and things they did to remedy the situation were well above and beyond what I know others would have done. They made it right and then some. It is my opinion that the challenges we faced would have occurred with ANY provider, but Acculevel kept their promise to fix our problem vs find a way to exit. A rare and refreshing character trait for the individuals and company. Highly recommend them. Thanks Nolan!"

"Crew worked very fast, completed our project in 1.5 days. System has worked well throughout the last 9 months including very heavy rainfall days. Our basement is dry, and we can go out of town without having to check the weather forecast to see whether I must stay home instead and dry-vac the basement."

"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"We didn't have anything to rip or tear down except for the old stairs. Ryan and his crew were building us a new staircase to join our old deck to our new deck. It was somewhat tricky because the new deck is on a sloping rocky hill- and the old deck was designed in the shape of the bay windows on the house facing the lakeside. Our deck sets up high off the ground. 15 ft (where the old deck is and maybe 4 ft where the new deck is) Ryan tightened down and repaired our old deck too. It was loose in one area. He made it sturdy and put some new wood up. He also found a new place for our flag post and put that in for us too.. We now have about 1000 sq ft of A STUNNING DECK overlooking our Beautiful Lake Our neighbors comment how great it looks. I told Ryan to drop a business sign in the front yard ( lake side) So boaters can get his information if they want a deck built. Ryan is a TRUE PROFESSIONAL a HARD WORKER, METICULOUS, PERFECTIONIST, and HONEST. If you want someone whose good call the other guy. If you want someone whose Great, still call the other guy. But if you want the BEST, call Ryan Swan. You may have to wait awhile to get him (because he does have all these great coupons going right now) but he is worth the wait I'm keeping my eye out for your next 2 hr $59 handyman coupon :) Thanks Ryan you guys were awesome!!!!"

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.

It restores concrete, prevents replacement cost disruptions, reduces trip hazards, and provides stability at a lower cost.

A slurry of cement, sand, and water is injected beneath the concrete to lift and stabilize it.

Polyjacking can be a permanent solution to sunken concrete if you also address the underlying issue—like poor drainage—at the same time. The polyurethane material itself can last as long as or even outlast the concrete you’re lifting it with. Your sunken concrete issue will likely return if you don’t couple polyjacking with proper drainage to prevent future soil movement and sinking.

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.
