"Project: Repair sump pump discharge pipe Tech - Marcus Prazuch Appointment - Cheyanne Sturgill was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and unlike several other companies, DID NOT try to sell me anything extra when making appointment. Repair - Marcus repaired discharge pipe in typical Michigan weather (34 Degrees and windy). Marcus went to work, going above and beyond to fix issue -- digging and cutting out specific piece of broken pipe, making sure remaining pipe was ok by snaking hose, performed repairs and cleaned up yard. In a rarity these days -- his efforts -- on a day when many others would have taken a short cut or mailed it in, showed he wanted to do the right thing. Very thankful and impressed. "Mike was informative and timely in all of our conversations prior to the installation of our French drain. Our backyard held a lot of water after heavy rains due to natural grading and our clay soil. With significant rain in the near term forecast, Mike was able to squeeze us in to insure we would have to push the install back until the water had a chance to dry out (normally a week +). "We received estimates from several providers for different approaches, and Atlantic Coast's were comparable, but Gary struck us both as very personable and he was able to schedule us in quickly. (In the end we chose the middle-ground approach with a comfortable - for us - price point. The super-duper dig down around the outside, install a drain around the house, etc. wasn't just out of budget range, but seemed like it might be overkill given the size of the offending invisible crack,the small resulting leak, and the HUGE amount of melt we were contending with after our winter of record snowfall. Basically, if water isn't pouring in the walls this winter/spring, we'll take our chances that it's probably not going to do so before the flood comes.)
On the day before the scheduled work we received calls on both our phones confirming the appointment, and then received calls the next morning providing an ETA.
Gary and Mark hung plastic sheeting around their work area to contain the dust. They worked on breaking up and removing concrete for a small trench below where a small wall crack had previously allowed spring melt into the basement. They placed a liner and large stone gravel into the trench, and installed a panel on the wall to direct water from the crack down under the foundation. The final step was mixing and filling in the remaining space with new concrete. They called us down at each phase of the process to explain what they were doing, and again when they were done to set expectations about time-to-cure and how to approach framing out the wall when we finish out the basement. They cleaned up well and the plastic sheet did keep the dust controlled.
They were pleasant to work with, prompt, courteous, and personable. Highly recommend.
