"We had our roof replaced, dormer added, and new gutters installed last summer (2016). They finished work quickly, ahead of schedule, and I have had ZERO issues with the roof and gutters since. Not to mention that it looks a heck of a lot better. The water situation has improved around my foundation drastically, with properly installed gutters."

"We talked to several companies and went with this company because of their guarantees and promises of protecting the property around the house.
We had issues regarding materials ending up in the landscaping and a window had to be replace because of scratching from material being dropped from the roof when the olf roof was taken off without properly protecting the wndow. We also had damage to our garage facia when they backed their truck into it.
Over the winter we had a water leak in our kitchen ceiling from a leak around he furnace.water heater exhaust vent that was causd because the installer never put the pipe back on correctly. They denied that they ever removed it when they re-roofed the house but we later found pictures that showed they did remove the exhaust pipe becuase the photo showed the roof without the pipe, We ended up paying to have the pipe reinstalled and to have the ceiling repaired in the kitchen for a cost of $150.00.
This fall (2013) we noticed that the soffit was coming out at one end of the house.According to the contract we have a 10 year workmanship warranty so I called the owner and he said it would be easy to fix -- that was three weeks ago and he hasn't shown up yet. I called again last week (10/29/2013) and left a voice mail with no response.
Very disappointed in the company and their failure to address issues that they guaranteed and to offer responsible customer service for the product and services they sell.

Greenhouses and Nurseries questions, answered by experts

In most cases, wait three to five days to repot or relocate a plant from a greenhouse or nursery. That way, your plant has time to recover from any shock during the move and adapt to the conditions in and around your home. Some hearty plants may not need as long, and delicate plants might need several weeks. You should ask the professional at your nursery for a recommended timeline. Consider asking about an initial watering schedule to help stimulate root growth and promote a healthy plant.

Eco-friendly materials include sustainably-sourced woods, recycled metals, low-VOC paints, and non-toxic sealants, which reduce environmental impact. Using these in repairs promotes sustainability and can improve indoor air quality and overall building health.

The quickest way you can protect plants and trees from frost is to cover them with garden blankets or frost cloths. Also, bringing potted plants or trees indoors is much simpler than trying to cover and protect them outdoors. Remember to anchor blankets with something such as sandbags, fabric pins, or rocks if the forecast calls for strong winds to keep them from blowing away and exposing your trees and plants.

Adding burnt charcoal to your garden beds and plant pots can yield several benefits, but there are risks involved, too. Charcoal, particularly biochar, can enhance soil structure, improve water drainage, and increase nutrient retention. When activated, charcoal provides key nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. However, burnt charcoal, especially from briquettes, can inadvertently alter soil's pH levels and become hazardous to plants. Overall, there are better and less risky soil amendments available, such as vermiculite, perlite, or wood chips.

Minor fixes like patching leaks or repainting are DIY-friendly, but structural repairs require professional expertise.
