"Excellent - I ended up hiring someone to help with shopping and finishing piece - waste of time and money. Jill's service was by far the most useful and best value in my decorating process.

"It went excellent! I had them replace a few loose tiles in my bathroom, install a new soap dish and toilet paper holder, and a few other things. They came out on time and did a great job. The handyman that came out did an excellent job!"

"Sterve arrived on time and immediately went to work.  I estimated the job would take only a couple of hours however, I was quite wrong!  Removing the glass tiles was a very tedious job but Steve never got impatient or upset.  He remained professional and completed the job in approximately three and a half hours, working non-stop the entire time!

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

It’s easiest to start from an edge as it gives you a straight line. A problem may arise if your edge doesn’t line up perfectly, in which case it’s best to start from the center. Some think that starting tile from the center adds a focal point in the center of the hearth.

Costs range from $5 to $15 per square foot for installation and $150 to $600 for repairs, depending on the material and complexity.

For best results, you should remove the toilet in a bathroom before removing tile or installing new tile. If you don’t remove the toilet, it will be harder to fully waterproof the tile around the toilet, which could increase the risk of mold growth or plumbing leaks. If you have trouble removing the toilet, hire a plumber to help.

Your floors should be completely level for tile, otherwise you risk damaging the tiles in the future. When there are even small gaps or hills in the subfloor beneath the tile, this puts more pressure on the tile when you walk around on the floor. With repeated traffic, the tiles are at risk of cracking, and you’ll have to deal with tile repairs sooner than if the floor was completely level.

The rule tells you how to cut tile to install it in a corner. The 3/4/5 rule recommends that you should have 3 feet across on one straight line, four feet on the other perpendicular line, and 5 feet of length from the end of one of the lines to the other. You’re making a right triangle with the tile, and the hypotenuse (the line across from where the 3-foot lie and 4-foot line meet) should be 5 feet long.
