We have been in the building trade for 25 years and added specialty weatherization 6 years ago. We are certified contractors for Maine State Housing Authority and Efficiency Maine. We are EPA Certified Lead Safe Renovators and fully insured. BPI Certified.

"Horrible Job! This outfit changed their appointment times at least five times before actually starting the job. They blew cellulose insulation into our east bedroom attic, but had complete disregard for the mess they created. They ran the discharge hose up through an open ceiling hatch with no attempt at sealing the opening. As a result, cellulose debris & dust was EVERYWHERE! It took my wife and me several hours of vacuuming, washing items, shaking out blankets and rugs, and serious dusting to get the spaces back somewhat civilized."

Unlike a battery-powered backup which has limited power, a generator can run around the clock for as long as you need it. 

Or you can opt for a water-powered backup pump, which uses your home’s water supply as a source of power. However, this may not be the best option if you find your house frequently has low water pressure.

Alternatives to gutter systems include rain chains and drip edges, which work to disperse rain coming off of your roof to a wider section of the ground to prevent erosion and pooling. These options aren’t standalone alternatives to gutters in all parts of the country because they don’t divert water. They’re often reserved for dry climates. On the ground, you can also opt for a drip path or French drain. These can serve as standalone alternatives, but they’re expensive and can detract from your curb appeal and usable yard.

Mold and other fungi love moisture, so the best way to prevent mold growth after water damage is to remove as much moisture as possible. First, find the source of the water or moisture, such as a leak or clogged gutters, and correct the problem. Other ways to protect your crawl space from moisture include installing a vapor barrier, using a dehumidifier, installing insulation, and using a fan to dry the space. Finally, keeping your gutters clear of debris and positioning your downspouts away from the home’s foundation can prevent moisture from getting into the crawl space in the first place.

It depends on what caused your basement flooding, the extent of the problem, and the risk of the flood continuing. If your flood is coming from a septic system or sewer line, breathing in the sewer gasses can be dangerous, so you should vacate. If the flood occurs from an ongoing natural disaster, relocating to a safe area might be wise. If you just have a plumbing leak or rainwater coming in, you can likely stay in the house if you don’t have electrical lines down there, but make sure you call in professionals to fix the issue immediately.
