"Excellent work! Super professional, friendly, communicative and they definitely knew what they were doing. They got the work done way quicker than we could have, that’s for sure. I was impressed that they went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I were happy with the quality and scope of the work done. I would definitely recommend!"

"He was not able to replace my faucet because he is not a licensed plumber, but he did other things, which were not on my original list. For example, he lifted some entry stairs, which had started to sink into the ground, and he power washed the whole front of my house. So that more than made up for not getting the faucet done. The other work done was more than satisfactory."

"I cannot tell you how extremely satisfied I am with my new bathroom and the great work that you did. I can’t wait to get you back out here again in the future when I am ready to do my second bathroom and other various remodel projects I have! I also cannot express how professional and excellent Dominic was. He came and showed up exactly when he said he would on all scheduled days. He kept the place clean, never leaving a mess. Provided great design ideas and was very patient. He is an excellent professional, job well done!!! Best, Leah (A very satisfied and happy customer)"

Plaster Repair questions, answered by experts

There are several warning signs that a ceiling crack is connected to a larger issue. For starters, if the crack is wider than 1/8 inch or longer than 12 inches, you might have a more serious problem. The same applies if you have multiple smaller cracks or cracks going across the ceiling and down the wall. In any of these situations, you should ask a professional to assess the damage.

If your home was built before the 1940s and was not remodeled in the past 50 or so years, you probably have plaster walls. Aside from assuming, there are some practical ways to tell if you have plaster walls, including the following: If you knock on the wall and it feels solid, not hollow, if you can’t insert a thumbtack easily, if there are cracks that look like spiderwebs, or if your home has curved, arched, or swirled walls, doorways, or window openings.

If you have an unfinished basement or attic, you could examine the backs of any finished walls to check, too.

If you’re looking for a reliable plaster repair company, you should start by researching local companies in your area and reviewing their status with the Better Business Bureau. Next, you can contact the potential companies to ask about experience levels, get a list of references, and ask for examples of past work. If you have a textured wall, consider asking if they have examples or references for that particular texture. This method should help you narrow your search even further. You may also want to ask each company if they provide a warranty for their work.

Drying alone can take 1 to 4 hours to dry to the touch per plaster layer, but some types of plaster take several hours longer to dry. However, this doesn’t mean the job is done because plaster doesn’t fully harden until it cures, which can take a few days to a couple of weeks. It may take even longer if you’re building a new, pretty thick plaster wall. Allow the plaster to cure before painting it.

Installing or repairing plaster on ceilings differs slightly from performing the same motions on a wall. You’ll apply slightly less plaster to lower the overall weight of the ceiling. Wall texturing is common, whereas most ceilings are smooth plaster. Tough coat plaster is strong, meaning you can use less while retaining a solid surface.
