"Zuhlke Tree Service did a great job clearing out some overgrowth next to our neighbors fence as well as take down a damaged spruce tree. They removed all the tree pieces and debris leaving our yard all picked up. The Zuhlke family is very friendly and reviews the work to be done with you before starting the job. They offer very reasonable rates. I highly recommend Zuhlke Tree Service if you need any tree/ shrub removal done on your property."

"Jarrod took down a very large 150 plus yr old pine tree that towered above the roof of our house! He is a pro for sure. He dropped it right where it needed to go and made it look way too easy! I recommend him highly for any tree service. His price is more than fair for his experience and skill."

"Matt is very open and ethical. He is willing ro adjust a cost factor when discussed opening with the client. Having certain equipment on hand that must be a separate item to be paid for, i.e., a Lift ($700.00) and having additional time available for its use with unaccountable trees, was gracious. When he says he will be there at a certain time, he is. His expertise is impeccable. He works focused and does not wast time. He thinks through a problem before acting. He has a definite manner in cutting down trees that is both safe and productive. He works well with a "helper" via open ommunication. Safety is ;primary. His use of the Lift was amazing."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Early signs that a tree is struggling include premature leaf shedding and lesions or other strange markings. Peeling bark, dead or rotten branches on the ground, and a conspicuous lack of leaves can all be signs that a tree has started to die. By the time a tree starts leaning, it’s usually too far gone to save.

Some trees, such as silver maples, birches, sycamores, and scotch pines, shed their bark naturally. If your tree is not one that does this, it might have fallen prey to pests, fungi, or diseases. It could also simply be suffering from an extreme weather change, such as a snowstorm or heat wave. If you’re still stumped, consulting with a pro can help you diagnose your tree’s specific problem.

We don’t recommend DIY tree trimming for a few different reasons. First, the tools required to trim a tree can be costly, up to $1,100 or more, for the ladders and specialized saws needed.

Safety is another concern, especially when working with more mature trees. As a guideline, you should only DIY tree trimming when branches are less than two inches in diameter. Any more, and the safety risk becomes too high, which could lead to catastrophe. For this job, it’s safest to let a tree-trimming professional assess the work needed.

Stump grinding consists of removing the visible part of the stump, but the roots remain intact. Depending on the tree and root system, the roots may still grow after stump grinding. If you are concerned about root growth and damage, you may want to consider having a stump removed completely.

Yes, it’s possible to overwater a newly-planted tree. Daily watering is great for the first few weeks, but it’s important not to go overboard. Excessive watering can lead to various problems, including root rot, fungal diseases, and a lack of root development.
