"UPDATE: After speaking with the owner of the company he was able to take care of all the issues I had. I am now completely satisfied. ORIGINAL COMMENT: I had a leaky seal on a toilet and a bad water shutoff valve. The plumber replaced the leaky valve with no problem. But they tried to upsell. I a new toilet ($1,000.00) When all I needed was the replacement of a six-dollar seal. Then to force the issue after replacing the water valve they failed to replace the waterline on the existing toilet to entice me to spend $1000 that was unnecessary. They were going to leave my home with the waterline uninstalled and me without a working toilet. After pointing this out as they were ready to leave the plumber went and got a waterline cut the water valve back on and my toilet worked perfectly this was a blatant attempt to upsell me a toilet a $1000 toilet I did not need. I will not be using this plumber company again I cannot trust them."

"I needed teo toilets replaced. He replaced the one with expertise and was good about taking the toilet out without spilling any water throughout my home. Volunteered to do research on installing the other toilet due to pipe issues. Overall, great work. Would definitely use him again."

"They were very professional and stayed until the job was completed. It was a Sunday on the July 4th weekend, which I was thinking I was going to have to wait until after the holiday weekend. But they came out the same day and fixed the plumbing issue. Highly recommend them for future issues if I should have any."

"Orbit installed a Puronics water filtration system in my home over a month ago and all I can say is WOW! It is by far the best investment I have made for my family. I knew our county water was harsh and heavily chlorinated (I could smell and taste it), but I had no idea what a tremendous difference a Puronics system would make on everything in my home from bathing my kids, washing dishes, doing laundry and preventing water rings in my clean toilets. The alkaline drinking water is the cherry on top! This system has by far exceeded all of my expectations. Not only is this system the best in the industry, Orbit’s team, lead by Shelby, was exceptional, kind, and amazing to work with. I received wonderful customer service every step of the way. All of my questions were answered with factual information and data. Our installer, Travis, was very knowledgeable and further solidified working with Orbit was a great decision for my family. A high quality install was a must for me, especially with plumbing involved. The lifetime warranty Orbit provides stands alone in comparison to their competitors. While a Puronics system is more costly than the DIY system available from a local hardware store, it is worth every penny and will stay with my family for life. The quality is in a league of its own! I highly recommend!!!"

"They took care to answer our questions and double checked the measurements. Showed up on time and got it done quickly. The seam joint in the top is virtually invisible! Some minor issues, but then I am fussy. The caulk around the sink is not perfect and the matching of the small vertical sections with the horizontal tops isn’t perfect. But the overall impression of the new counters is excellent."

"Dan, Lorenzo, and their team were super attentive in ensuring our project went as smooth as possible. We had a really large, complicated, waterproofing job that involved a basement demo, an interior french drain, exterior drainage, and additional waterproofing in our house and these guys were professional, honest, and unbelievably hardworking. Dan came out to the job himself multiple times to ensure it was done right."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

For best results, you should remove the toilet in a bathroom before removing tile or installing new tile. If you don’t remove the toilet, it will be harder to fully waterproof the tile around the toilet, which could increase the risk of mold growth or plumbing leaks. If you have trouble removing the toilet, hire a plumber to help.

Sometimes, your insurance policy may cover leaking toilet repair. However, home insurance policies typically do not cover any plumbing problems. They do cover water damage caused by a busted pipe or a major leak. Some insurance companies also have riders that expand your initial coverage to include plumbing items. Talk to your agent for more information.

The average cost to hire a plumber is typically between $45 and $200 per hour, with a common average rate around $125 per hour. This cost can vary based on your location, the plumber's experience, and the complexity of the job. Rates are often broken down by experience level: an apprentice may charge $45 to $90 an hour, a journeyman $60 to $110 an hour, and a master plumber $80 to $200 an hour. While hourly rates are standard, some plumbers may charge a flat fee for routine projects or offer project-based pricing. It's also common for plumbers to charge a minimum service or trip fee. For reference, some typical flat-rate costs for common jobs include: drain unclogging ($220), leaky faucet repair ($270), burst pipe repair ($400), toilet repair ($300), and water heater repair ($600). Note that these rates are for standard service hours; emergency, holiday, and after-hours calls will cost significantly more.

Snaking a toilet is similar to clearing sinks and bathtubs, but there are unique circumstances where you’d have to drain, disassemble, and remove the toilet to fix the clog. For stubborn clogs in the toilet trap, a toilet auger—designed with a shorter cable and a protective plastic encasing—can navigate the tight bends and clear the clog without risking damage to the porcelain.

DIY is possible for minor repairs or replacements. Professional services ensure proper installation and leak prevention.
