"The Delaware Plumbing Professionals (DPP) that installed my products were Ryan and Anthony. I was very happy with the products and services provided to me. Here are things I want to express in no particular order. 1. Ryan/Anthony were on time. 2. They answered all of my questions. 3. I feel good knowing that my water hardness has decreased and the amount of chlorine in my water is less. (Artesian adds a lot of chlorine.) 4. I now get suds when I shampoo my hair. 5. My water tastes better. 6. I don't get orange rings in my toilet. 7. Ryan/Anthony are nice guys and a pleasure to talk to. 8. I was not pressured into buying anything. 9. I am definitely going to call DPP the next time I have a plumbing issue/need. 10. I will recommend DPP to my friends and family. Thank you, Alfred (Chad) Alspach"

"UPDATE: After speaking with the owner of the company he was able to take care of all the issues I had. I am now completely satisfied. ORIGINAL COMMENT: I had a leaky seal on a toilet and a bad water shutoff valve. The plumber replaced the leaky valve with no problem. But they tried to upsell. I a new toilet ($1,000.00) When all I needed was the replacement of a six-dollar seal. Then to force the issue after replacing the water valve they failed to replace the waterline on the existing toilet to entice me to spend $1000 that was unnecessary. They were going to leave my home with the waterline uninstalled and me without a working toilet. After pointing this out as they were ready to leave the plumber went and got a waterline cut the water valve back on and my toilet worked perfectly this was a blatant attempt to upsell me a toilet a $1000 toilet I did not need. I will not be using this plumber company again I cannot trust them."

"First, can I just comment on how professional Mr. Rooter was from the very first phone call to schedule service. Since it wasn't an emergency, they had me choose from selected "2 hour windows" where they were committed to arriving. They sent a text with a photo of my expected tech (what a great feature so you know for sure who is coming to your house, especially these days), and emails as reminders. Plus the tech (Zach) called when he was ready to come and asked me if the time was still ok with me. How convenient! He put little booties over his shoes each time he entered my home. He was clean in appearance and personable from the start. Truly very friendly and I felt comfortable having him in my home. Zach has 15+ years experience according to the little bio Mr. Rooter sent me ahead of time, and it shows. Jacob, his trainee with a few years experience, was on his way to becoming independent very soon. Just needing to learn the Mr. Rooter ropes. I wanted a kitchen sink sprayer installed. Love those handy things but never had one because for some reason my dishwasher's aerator was located in that same spot. Zach explained to me how things have changed over the years, showed me how the sprayer and hose would connect under my sink so that nothing would back up, and all in a manner that I actually understood! Then he and Jacob worked together very quickly to get my sprayer installed and and working. Who knew such a small thing could bring so much joy. While he was there, Zach asked if he could inspect my plumbing or if I had any other concerns. I mentioned my toilet made bubbling sounds for quite awhile. He said he would take a look. I thought maybe something was caught in the line. He inspected with a camera but told me he doubted that was the case as usually if there was an air pocket or something with the sewer, I would also hear bubbling in my shower and sink in the same bathroom, which I never have. After camera inspection was complete and nothing was in the line, and since my toilet was 22 years old, he suggested a new one might be in order since I didn't like plunging it. He told me he could install it at that time if I wanted it since it was in the window of time allotted for me and he didn't have another call to attend to right away, or he could come back at another convenient time, whichever I chose. (There is some sort of good discount to have work done in the same day, so that was a plus!) Well, he and Jacob had 2 styles (round or oval) of Kohler toilets to choose from on his truck, high efficiency (half-flush and full-flush) with "quiet-close" toilet seats included to boot. Those seats are awesome when you have kids who just slam everything down, ha. I think they had that toilet done within an hour from start to finish! BTW, this was written by the woman of the house, but Zach willingly spoke to my husband over the phone about the toilet while he was here, so I didn't feel any pressure to make a decision on my own. So now I am scheduling a time for Mr. Rooter to come and install a sink basin in my garage for dirty clean up jobs. Zach was able to figure out how everything would connect from my basement and inside bathroom to my garage. He also said he would do a full sewer inspection with his camera when that happens. Can't wait....really. They are knowledgeable, professional, respectable, and very nice too!"

"The men worked very hard...VERY . I have nothing to compare it to but it seemed that a broader auger might have boared thru the roots more efficiently.I believe it was only 2.5 inches vs the wide variety of water jet heads which you use primarily. Nomatter....I am satisfied that my drain s open. I can't comment accurately o bang for my buck as I have nothing to compare with;however I am happy to not be mucking thru the flooded basement and compliment the fellows on their determination!"

"Orbit installed a Puronics water filtration system in my home over a month ago and all I can say is WOW! It is by far the best investment I have made for my family. I knew our county water was harsh and heavily chlorinated (I could smell and taste it), but I had no idea what a tremendous difference a Puronics system would make on everything in my home from bathing my kids, washing dishes, doing laundry and preventing water rings in my clean toilets. The alkaline drinking water is the cherry on top! This system has by far exceeded all of my expectations. Not only is this system the best in the industry, Orbit’s team, lead by Shelby, was exceptional, kind, and amazing to work with. I received wonderful customer service every step of the way. All of my questions were answered with factual information and data. Our installer, Travis, was very knowledgeable and further solidified working with Orbit was a great decision for my family. A high quality install was a must for me, especially with plumbing involved. The lifetime warranty Orbit provides stands alone in comparison to their competitors. While a Puronics system is more costly than the DIY system available from a local hardware store, it is worth every penny and will stay with my family for life. The quality is in a league of its own! I highly recommend!!!"

Toilets questions, answered by experts

A wax ring can often last the entire lifespan of a toilet, which is typically 20 to 30 years. However, it may need to be replaced sooner if it becomes damaged. Signs that your wax ring needs replacement include bad odors or leaks coming from the base of the toilet. The wax can also dry out, flake, or crumble if the toilet was not secured correctly upon installation or has become loose over time. If you notice your toilet wobbles, it's a good indication that the wax ring may be compromised and should be inspected to prevent leaks.

While a toilet dripping on the outside can be caused by condensation, a toilet that is constantly dripping on the inside is usually caused by a deteriorated flapper. This is one of the most common types of toilet leaks. As the flapper degrades, it won’t seal properly, and water will constantly leak into the toilet.

Left unattended, a leaking toilet will eventually cause water damage or mold growth. If you’re a homeowner, you can file an insurance claim for water damage. However, that can be a long and tedious process; sometimes, your insurance company may not cover the damage. Therefore, it’s always best to fix any leak you notice right away if you can.

Some older homes have toilets in the basement to combat sewage backups. This type of toilet, also known as a Pittsburgh potty, acted as a safety valve over the incoming sewer line. If a line backed up, it would back up into the toilet because it was the lowest fixture in the home, keeping it out of sight and away from the finished areas of the house.

Basement toilets were also used by workers with messy jobs, like those who worked in coal mines or steel mills. This way, they could clean up and avoid tracking dirt through their home.

Yes, you can have a toilet without a septic tank. However, it will have to be a composting toilet. Composting toilets work similarly to aerobic septic systems in that the waste, which sits in a separate compartment below the toilet itself, is slowly broken down by aerobic bacteria. These toilets typically have a vent to get rid of harmful gasses with a fan, which requires a battery. You will have to dispose of waste in the toilet manually every three weeks to every three months, depending on how many people are using the toilet.
