"Contacted them by phone by referral from Angie's list. There were few, if any, prior reviews. The friendly rep provided an instant quote that was less than the three other companies I contacted. They indicated that they could obtain the glass and have it installed at my shop later that afternoon. Although the tech arrived a bit later than had been indicated, it was not a problem. The tech was very courteous, knowledgeable, professional and efficient. We knew that there was some visible, and possibly hidden, rust around the windshield frame and were concerned about whether the glass should be put in before that was addressed, possibly even by a body shop. No problem for the Clearview tech. He explained that he would sand and otherwise treat the area so that the windshield could be installed without concerns about the seal or leaks. The glass was installed nicely. Was there any extra charge for the unanticipated extra effort to prepare the area to receive the glass? NO. The job was billed as quoted. Bravo, Clearview! A job well done. Thank you. We will definitely call on you again!

"Everything was very friendly and professional. I used information from Angie's deal, called and arranged a convenient time for visit and estimate.  Joe came from their Springfield, PA main facility and thoroughly explained their product, and their experience providing us with samples, information about the filtering each tint provided and  brochures. Exact measurements where taken verifying where .the work was to be done.  He left the samples with us to pick out the shade(s) of tinting with his recommendations.  They provided a proposal via email in one day.
We responded on the phone. adding an additional patio door and window to be tinted.  They provided a second proposal in a day.  We accepted via email, and agreed on a date.
Joe and his son showed up about a week later with all materials needed, cut ready to be installed.  Installation was very efficient, and they were very friendly.  They made certain that all was installed to our satisfaction, and reminded us of the lifetime guaranty.

"The installer showed up on time and started work right away.  The installer was polite and professional and understood his work very well.  After discussing the doors and window that should be linked to the alarm, he provided advice on where the key pad should be located.  The installer also set up and explained the system to me as well.
I docked quality, slightly, on account of the original placement of the pin pad.  The installer put it in a spot that prevented a door in my living room from fully opening.  I pointed this out to him, and the installer was kind enough to move it about 6 inches to fix the problem.  Moving left some extra drill holes in my living room wall, but that's fine as we're repainting soon.

"Sales process was good, courteous and helpful. Installation instructions were easy to follow. Did have a small issue with one sensor which was easily solved with a call. Control panel is easy to use and well constructed. Phone app is the best part. Not a big fan of a 2 year contract and the monthly rate feels a little high, but definitely a decent system. I had emailed them a question pertaining installing on double hung windows and never received a reply, but other than that their phone support prior to that was good."

Window Tinting questions, answered by experts

While it is possible to install home window tint yourself, it is a challenging task that is often best left to professionals. The process can be tedious and time-consuming, requiring steady hands and a great deal of patience, especially for a first-time installer.

Common mistakes in DIY applications include visible bubbles, imperfections, and film that either hangs over the edges or doesn't fully cover the glass. These errors not only look unprofessional and detract from your home's curb appeal but can also reduce the tint's effectiveness in blocking sunlight and heat. If you have struggled with applying protective films to smaller items like phones or tablets, you may find this task particularly difficult.

Attempting the installation yourself and making a mistake can lead to wasted material and the additional cost of hiring a professional to fix the issues or redo the job. Although hiring a professional involves labor costs, it typically guarantees a high-quality, seamless appearance and saves you from having to do the work over again.

If your window film doesn’t come with an installation kit and its own application solution, you can make your own—but don’t use soap! Instead, use 1 teaspoon of baby shampoo mixed with a gallon of bottled water. Make sure the bucket in which you mix this solution is completely clean.

Energy-efficient windows are judged on their performance according to a few different factors, including heat transfer, air leakage, light transference, and condensation resistance. If you're unsure whether a window is energy-efficient, look for an ENERGY STAR® label from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). If various products, including windows, meet energy-efficiency standards set by the federal government, the EPA issues this label to help consumers identify energy-efficient products.

One drawback is that window film can reduce the amount of natural light entering a room, particularly if you opt for a darker or more opaque film. Additionally, if not installed properly, window film may develop air bubbles or wrinkles, affecting its appearance. Over time, certain types of window film may also experience discoloration or peeling. Moreover, certain window films can interfere with wireless signals, such as Wi-Fi or cellular reception. Careful consideration of these potential drawbacks is essential when deciding whether window film is the right choice for your home.

If you have bubble wrap lying around the house and you don’t care about the odd look, taping bubble wrap over a window is a very affordable way to insulate it. Another inexpensive option for insulating windows is to add new caulk around the glass. This step quickly cuts down on air drafts for older windows, and a tube of caulk only costs a few dollars. Adding plastic shrink film around the glass is another cost-effective option. You can purchase a kit of plastic film for a few dollars per window.
