"The quality of work is excellent. I would recommend Brackettry Custom Homes LLC for any type of remodel, home improvement, painting etc...The company is very dependable, reasonably priced and does great work. I hired Brackettry LLC for a Kitchen remodel, 2 bathroom remodel with detail oriented tile work, a kitchenette, painting the interior of my entire home and exterior doors among other things. Great work ethic and plan on hiring the company for other projects in the future. I highly recommend Brackettry LLC."

"Splendid. I was referred to LHI by an acquintnance who they have done work for and who was raving about how they remodeled their bathroom. I hired them to turn an old out of shape apartment into a unit I am now renting for $1600 a month. The tiny bathroom in tgis apartment was gutted along with kitchen. They completely rebuilt everything head to toe and did major improvements. Everything was done in house, electrical, tile, carpentry and painting were all competed by professionals. The result, an apartment that I feel bad renting out amd want to move into myself. I recomend them 10 times over."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

You can let the tile sit without grout. Don’t panic if there’s a delay between installing the tiles and grouting. A substantial stoppage isn't a problem, provided you keep the tile surface clear of dust and debris. Also, avoid walking over less stable ungrouted floor tiles as they are more prone to premature cracking and shifting.

No, you don’t need to remove the old grout before installing new tile over existing tile. In fact, the old grout helps fill in gaps between tiles, creating a more even surface for the new layer. However, it's important to ensure that the grout is clean, solid, and free of cracks or crumbling areas. Damaged grout should be repaired or replaced before proceeding. Cleaning the surface thoroughly and filling any low spots will help the new adhesive bond properly and ensure a smooth, stable installation.

You can lay tile directly on a plywood countertop, but if it’s a high-traffic surface in a kitchen, it’s better to add a moisture-resistant base. Plywood is susceptible to moisture, so if dampness seeps through from the surface around the sink or where you prep food, it can cause the plywood to warp, leading to grout damage, cracked tiles, or mold growth under the surface.

On average, tiling a shower costs between $1,800 and $5,000, with most people paying around $2,700. The price of this project depends on multiple factors, including the kind of tile you choose, the size of your shower, and labor rates in your area. If you decide to tile your own shower (instead of hiring a professional), it’ll likely cost $800 to $1,400.

When cleaning porcelain tiles, avoid products that contain ammonia, bleach, and other harsh chemicals. Acid-based cleansers can damage the tile, though you can clean them with a diluted mixture of one-quarter cup white vinegar mixed with one gallon of hot water. It is important always to use a soft-bristled brush or sponge, since hard bristles and steel wool can scratch the tile.
