"Everything went very well. The movers were friendly and cordial and worked hard. They were careful to put things in the truck in the right order and got almost everything in in one go. With the help of my son the work was done in about 3 hours. Only once they were a bit overly enthusiastic and hit the ceiling with a cabinet they were carrying upstairs, but the damage was minimal. They removed hardware when needed and made sure things were put in the right places (I had labeled things with colored tape which helped). I would definitely recommend their service to my friends. It was a pleasure to work with them.

"We wanted to try a local contractor and came across Evergreen by chance.  It was an excellent experience.  Thad was knowledgeable and professional and easy to work with.  The crew was exactly the same.  Nice, respectful, competent.  The worked around my crazy schedule as we had other improvements going on.  They had a slight delay in getting the generator as there was a back order, but called and let us know and we worked around it.  Laurie in the office was equally good and kept us in communication on details or things to do and schedule etc.  I could not be more happy with the experience on such a big purchase.  They were always accommodating and helpful.  The Generator and switch were high quality and I think the price was fair.  They even did some easy side things for us for no charge.  We will definitely use them again soon to install an attic fan."

"CRG was great! We originally hired Cornelio & crew to redo our master bathroom, as their quote was extremely reasonable. When they removed the drywall in the bathroom, they found a great deal of water damage and structural problems. Cornelio walked us through the issues, and then gave us another reasonable quote to repair the problems. He initially quoted three weeks to finish the bathroom, which ended up being five and a half weeks due to the structural issues. The crew started on time every day and finished on time every day. All of the workers were very courteous and everyone did a great job of answering all of my questions. Cornelio was on site every morning and walked us through what was going to happen that day. When we had minor issues, they were fixed immediately, and when we had a few add-ons, Cornelio gave us a prompt (reasonable) quote and incorporated the changes into the contract. Ultimately, we now have a structurally sound house, and a beautiful new bathroom."

"I was impressed by the quality of the job and the professionalism. However, I didn’t get around to submitting a review on Angie’s List until now. I never forgot the company. I looked them up, because I am planning to contact them for more work."

"Okay, seriously, the team has just left and I keep wandering through my home Julie Andrews-style, ready to burst out with "The hills are alive..." I am beyond thrilled with their work.
We have a regular housekeeper who comes every week and we love her, but she does not clean windows and a few other things. I had begun to notice that after living here for 3 years (even with weekly cleaning) there were areas where the dust was getting heavy (mostly behind and under furniture). I called Spotless Finish and explained the situation, that I just needed the extras of a heavy 'spring cleaning', the basics were already taken care of as my housekeeper would be here the day before they were scheduled. Evi had no problem with my unusual request, she welcomed my list and  suggested a few other items.
The team arrived on time (all smiles) with the list Evi and I had agreed upon in hand. I explained the situation to them, showed them around, and off they went. They were amazingly thorough, yet worked quickly and efficiently!
My list included items such as: window cleaning, hand wash baseboards, doors, frames and handles, clean fronts of kitchen and bath cabinets, clean all air vents, ceiling fans, deep vacuum carpet borders and stairs (where all the corners meet), clean under washer/dryer, condition leather recliners, clean light fixtures over bath vanities, etc. WOW! What a difference cleaning those items makes!
About halfway through the cleaning, a supervisor called and spoke with the team. When she became a little confused about the services I was having performed, she spoke directly with me. I truly appreciated her communicating with me immediately to get clarification.
I am so happy with the results and the price was reasonable. I will have Spotless Finish come twice a year to provide this service, as well as for weekly cleaning when my housekeeper is on vacation.

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

If you’re replacing an old fixture with a ceiling fan, you usually won’t need a permit, but if your electrician runs new wiring for the fixture, you likely will need a permit. Building permits are necessary in most municipalities if you’re making changes to your electrical system, so even if you have partial wiring run to the area and need new wiring installed for added functionality, you’ll probably need a permit. Your electrician should be able to let you know if you need one, and they’ll typically file the paperwork for you.

The most efficient ceiling fan height is 8 to 9 feet from the floor to the fan blades. For ceilings higher than 9 feet, a downrod can be used to lower the fan to the optimal height. This positioning ensures adequate air circulation and maximizes the cooling effect. Remember, fans should be installed at least 7 feet above the floor for safety.

If you’re removing a ceiling fan without visible screws, start by locating the fan canopy—a round cover placed above the fan blades and motor. There should be a thin ring that can be turned counterclockwise to remove the canopy and reveal the screws. After unscrewing the fan, you can disconnect the wires and remove the entire fan from the mounting hardware. For safety, make sure the fan switch is turned off before you remove the canopy. It may be easier to remove the fan blades first, too.

The number of blades for your fan poses both advantages and disadvantages. Typically, the more blades on a fan, the better the air distribution and cooling effect, but this also means that your fan will have more wear on its motor. For small rooms, three-blade fans should work fine. For larger areas like living rooms, four or five-blade fans might be the better option.

Ceiling fans require periodic cleaning of blades to avoid dust accumulation, checking screws and connections for firmness, and occasional lubrication for components, keeping the fan running smoothly and quietly over time.
