"The technician, Fredy Aguilar, did great work installing a new sliding closet door and repairing another closet door. The new closet door looks and works great and the old door works better than it did we when moved into our house."

Customers say: Super punctual

"Jose contacted me quickly, came by the same day to understand the project and gave me a free estimate. He came back the next day and did the work. He was polite and responsive , and he did a great job on the work (fixing exterior and interior doors and door knobs that were loose and not secure anymore, and securely attaching a headboard to bedframe. I highly recommend him and plan to use him again for handyman projects that come up."

"Had 2 small leaks in our kitchen ceiling.  The leaks were directly under our master bath, and would be halfway between the master bathroom's toilet and shower stall.  Also, there is a fire sprinkler about 3-6" inches from the leak.  Michael diagnosed part of the cause of the problem, which was a leaky shower valve.  He replaced the valve in the shower, and when it was discovered that there was a second unrelated leak that happened to be in the same area, he fixed that and replaced a pipe.  Very professional throughout.

"They didn't have to. I thought we had a garage door issue, and they came out. It had fixed itself. The gentlemen explained what often happens about something coming unconnected. All you do is run the garage door a couple times, to hook the cable back together. We didn't do it enough before he came out here. He didn't charge me anything. Nope. He was only here for five minutes. He said what was the problem, I told him this door here won't open look. I pressed the button, and it opened. They came at a convenient time. They called when they said they were on their way. They were very punctual. I felt like a complete fool, not figuring it worked for the week, before the appointment. That was nice of him to not charge us anything. There wasn't any service done, but the explanation was good."

Door Repair questions, answered by experts

The door jamb is one part of the door frame, which means you can sometimes replace or fix the door jamb without replacing the frame. However, check the frame for damage before you work on the door jamb. If there’s damage to the frame, you’ll need to fix that before repairing or replacing the door jamb.

Doors get more sticky in the summer. Contrary to popular belief, doors can also stick in the winter since humidity causes doors to stick during both seasons. However, thermal expansion and humidity in the summer mean that the thermal heat and moisture in the air both play a role in causing a door to stick.

First, determine what is causing the issue. If the doorframe was improperly installed without a consistent width from top to bottom, you’ll need to contact a door installer to install a new doorframe. If loose or missing screws are causing the issue, you can fix the problem with a few turns of a screwdriver. Other problems require removing the door and supporting it in the proper place with shims while you reinstall it.

Removing a pocket door essentially involves building a new wall, which costs between $1,000 and $3,200. Depending on your unique project, you might need to add waste removal, plumbing, mold remediation, or electrical services, which can further drive up costs.

If you have a handyperson or general contractor whose work you know and trust, they can definitely be the right call for the job. Adding weather stripping and sealing doors are tasks that fall perfectly within the handyperson’s standard remit—and installing the awning shouldn’t be a stretch for most contractors and handypersons either.

If you have difficulty locating contractors who specialize in this level of door and window repair, you might start looking at trusty referrals for a local handyperson or experienced general contractor
