"Wizard did a great job. I hired Wizard to project manage the purchase and delivery of a new refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher, and the removal of my old appliances. I also had them install the new appliances. I could have done this all directly with Lowe’s or Home Depot, but I had a terrible experience a few years ago getting a new washing machine, and given that I was getting a whole kitchen’s worth of appliances all at once, I just wanted someone to make sure it went well. Mohammad send a technician to measure the space and then suggested and ordered appliances based on what I had said I wanted. The two of them arrived the morning of the installation to disconnect the old appliances and then install the new appliances once ready. They are very personable and energetic and got everything done within three days of my first contacting them. I am very happy."

"Seemed to have done a very good job. I’m just curious why the business card given to me by the tech..Hamed has a different address 5422 Richenbacher Ave Alexandria, Va. And I question the invoice because it was sent to be electronically which was fine but it had a different telephone number under my name. And the charges $150 to diagnose but was actually applied to service provided, $150 and service to the GE stackable I was charged $150 for cleaning the washer and $100 for cleaning the dryer (only used a vacuum cleaner) and $125 to replace the water inlet valve Is Hotak Appliance Repair 5422 Richenbaker Ave Alexandria, Va and Hotak LLC 4507 S Four Mile Dr Apt 21 Arlington, Va the same company"

"The temperature control and ice maker in my freezer were both broken. I received estimates from a number of companies and MohTech was very competitively priced, but also had the lowest initial estimate fee. Khalid was very responsive and polite in setting up appointments and I even received text notifications when he was on his way to my house. He was extremely professional every step of the way in explaining what was wrong and how long it would take to get parts and fix. I had some difficulties with the ice maker following the first visit and Khalid came back out free of charge to take a look at explain to me what I had to do in order to make it work. I'd absolutely use MohTech again and highly recommend them for any appliance repair needs."

"Ken was very helpful with all my needs for power washing. He came out earlier than scheduled...which was great! He gave a fair and honest estimate of cost which any consumer appreciates and he and his son did a great job. I would hire them again and again. Thanks for the great job."

Appliance Sales questions, answered by experts

It depends. For new ovens, it’s best to run a few empty cycles to prepare the oven for use and to keep any manufacturing byproducts from entering your food. But if your oven is smoking due to a few burnt pieces of old food, then it probably won’t hurt to eat it. If there’s a lot of smoke, then your food probably won’t taste good, even if it might not be harmful to consume.

Usually, surfaces that heat up or begin to glow when in use are traditional electric cooktops. Induction ranges only warm slightly, and often do not have an indicator that they are turned on (though some newer models have lights to mimic the glow of electric units). Because induction stovetops don’t get very hot, they are considered safer than electric units.

Gas dryers heat up more quickly and generate more heat than electric dryers, meaning they dry clothes faster. Using a gas dryer will lower your electricity bill and may even be more gentle on clothing than an electric one.

Air fryers circulate hot air throughout the cooking cavity, removing surface moisture from food to create a crispy exterior. This is meant to simulate the texture of deep-fried food without all the calories and health implications of eating food cooked in hot oil. Conventional (non-convection) ovens use heating elements on the top and bottom of the cooking cavity to heat and cook food.

Smart home upgrades can be worth the money. Several upgrades, including smart thermostats and ceiling fans, can help reduce your energy bills. Others make life more convenient, freeing up your time to do what you love (or get more work done). And some smart home upgrades, such as entertainment systems, simply make life more enjoyable. All are worthy causes.
