We are a family business. I am the only full time employee. My wife and my 2 boys help out sometimes. With 32 years of experience in the equipment repair industry we are very well equipped to handle your needs. I spent many years with John Deere and obtained numerous certificates in Customer Service and Parts. During that time I also worked my way up to a John Deere Advanced Certified Technician. We work on all makes and models of small outdoor power equipment - Homeowner/Commercial/Agricultural. We get almost all of our parts direct from the manufacturers and have very competitive pricing. We are currently running our "Winter Service Special", which includes Free pickup and delivery of ride on equipment. We currently accept cash or check as payment which is due at the time of completion of work.

Welding questions, answered by experts

You should pick steel for your new support beam for a few reasons. While steel is more expensive than other materials, such as laminated veneer lumber or glulam, it offers the following benefits:

  • Fire-resistant

  • Unaffected by pests

  • Longer-lasting

  • Stronger against water damage (when galvanized against rust)

The difference between a lintel and a beam is what loads each is responsible for supporting. A lintel is a type of beam that is responsible only for supporting the load above an opening, such as a window or door, and transfers the weight to the side walls around an opening. A beam supports the slab and transfers the load to nearby columns, which then disperse the load to the ground.

Lally columns are named after their founder, John Lally, who owned a construction company in the 1800s. He invented the columns as a means of providing temporary support for beams and rafters in homes his company was renovating. The original Lally columns were also made of steel, although the inventory used a thicker gauge metal, which provided additional support for larger projects and long-term structural solutions.

Choosing the right metal fabricator for your project begins with research. Find a reputable fabrication company by searching for reputable contractors in your area, and then reviewing photos of their previous work, customer reviews, and photos of the company’s workshop.

Once you’ve narrowed down the list, contact the companies to ask about the types of metal fabrication projects they specialize and inquire about guarantees and warranties on workmanship. You should also ensure the company uses high-quality material, and ask about the schedule and turnaround time for your proposed project.

Custom metalwork offers durability, design flexibility, and unique aesthetics tailored to specific needs.
