Excellent. He was extremely professional and very friendly. Easy to get along with. Did some extras that just added to the final product. Has a great work ethic (worked through those humid 95 degree days).  He also made some revisions that actually cut the cost of the project. We would definitely bring him back for work on our property. Last, he cleaned up everything, nothing was left in the yard or on the sidewalks.

Initial phone contact good, pleasant conversation with owner who requested photos and then came (although an hour late) to scheduled appointment.
After sending in deposit for work, had to wait longer than the expected (promised) time for work to be started and completed which was need by deadline set by my home owner insurance company
Had to call owner and remind him  close to deadline at which time he promised to get work finished soon but gave no definite date.
Finally  called and came to do work and assured me that he could complete on his own without my being present.
Returned to find job finished but not well done.   Side  hand rail severely bowed,  porch rails not carefully installed - misaligned with porch concrete runners.  Since I was under severe time pressure from insurance company did not challenge but unsatisfied with the work done.
overall impression:  small 1-2 man operation which rushes to jobs as they come in ;    fair-poor  overall workmanship
would go with an established more professional firm next time

From beginning to end Neal did a great job.
To speed the process I took photos of the area that I wanted work performed. I then emailed them to Neal with my approximate measurements and he took it from there. He came out to confirm my measurements and fabricated/installed a new railing. The work is solid and I would use him again.
Thanks!

I'll start this review by saying that to me, the "end result" is what counts most.  And Neale and his company produced exactly the custom look security fence I had envisioned.  This was a bit of an unusual request, because even though many people have iron bars welded over their A/C units for security, I needed two large, expensive (side by side) heat pumps protected.  Also, I felt a "security fence" would look better than just metal bars.  So here was my experience: After 1st calling and getting leaving a message with an assistant, it did take a few days but Neale called me back to set up an appointment to give an estimate.  He arrived right on time, took a look at the situation, and after a few minutes of brainstorming we were on exactly the same page in terms of design - and I liked how he sketched it out.  I also felt his quote was very reasonable (his was the 3rd estimate I had gotten).  And I don't know, there was just something about Neale, I could tell he had a *passion* for security fencing and "keeping crooks out" so to speak.  After getting my estimate in writing via email later that day, I put down my (1/3) deposit.  About a week later, after fabricating much of the fence in his shop, Neale and his team arrived and got to work fast.  I took them 2 days total, which was fine (day #1 they installed the fence posts and the concrete needed to set overnight).  Day# was most of the assembly,  welding and the paint job. Now, about 2 weeks later, I am extremely happy with the final result.  Very secure, and very sharp looking!  Even the gloss black paint job is very nice.  My neighbors have made several admiring comments over the past week also.  The only thing I could fault, if anything, would be if speed - is critical too you.Baltimore Wrought does seem like a busy company so don't be surprised if there is a week or so delay / backlog.  Also, they do prefer cash payment vs credit card.  (I did my deposit on credit card and paid the final 2/3 cash).  But  these minimal factors were not a big deal for me, because *high quality* work and to a lesser extent, total price, were all I really cared about - and these guys definitely delivered on both!

My experience was excellent.  Neale did a great job while I waited.  He is very personable, has a sweet cat and is very conscientious in his work.  I had some wrought iron chairs where the seat was starting to separate from the frame of the chair.  In addition, he helped me locate the green patina that is  painted on wrought iron (Kings on Eastern Ave near I-95).   It was a pleasure doing business with him. Wrought iron is his passion and it shows.  You will not be disappointed.

I originally found and contacted Mr. Neal on Angieslist in March of 2011. He gave me an estimate for the work that needed to be done. It was good for one year. Unfortunately, I didn't have the money to have the work done. However, this year in March, I finally had the money, and contacted Mr. Neale about the estimate he gave last year to see if it was still good. Surprisingly, he did remembered me and kept my estimate. He said that it was still good. So, I agreed to his price and the contract, and the work was performed during the week of May 7. Mr. Neale is very gifted and talented with wrought iron, and I am very pleased with the work he has done. However, there are two areas that I would suggest Mr. Neale work on first, touchup on his professionalism. His a little rough around the edges. Finally, work at being on time for appointments. When I had a scheduled appointment with Mr. Neale, I did have to call him to see if he was still coming. He need to be aware of his scheduled appointments and call if he's running behind a scheduled appointment. Mr. Neale did have his brother join him in the business to help him with his appointments and other administrative duties. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the work that was performed. I would definitely use his company again for wrought iron work and I would recommend to anyone needing that type of work done.

Neale does excellent iron work & is personable. He knows his craft with the iron.  Paint job on my railing was less than adequate,  due to the fact painting was done (for the most part) in the dark & a new roller was not used. Paint on railing does not have smooth finish because fiber from the roller is in the paint. Did not do a good job of  preparation before job started (i.e. covering screen door w/ plastic to shield it from concrete dust or use of drop cloths/plastic to minimize paint on vinyl siding and steps.  Customer service is lacking in terms of scheduling & managing expectations about job date and time of arrival. Required my follow-up to find our exactly what day job would happen & time of arrival. Was expected to arrive @ 9 am on day of job. Didn't arrive @ this time. I called after about 10:30 & was told he was just picking-up some needed supplies. Not sure of actual arrival time, since I had an appointment to keep at 11:20 and had to leave the house. I'd estimate start time was well after 11, as I got back home after 1 pm and minimal progress seemed to be made. Also, I was asked to pay balance on job before it was totally complete, which didn't meet my expectations in terms of professionalism. I'd use again, if needed; and would be sure to pin down times, ask for calls if running late or changes needed; and will only settle up after job is totally complete & can be inspected in the daylight.

He was really good. I told him that we had an emergency and he came out two days later, met my son and I, did all the welding for us. While he was here he also cut a piece of steel off the hitch that was sticking out so we can now cover the propane tank; he just took twenty extra bucks for that. He was very compliant. He helped us right on the spot and came quickly. He gives you all three ways to reach him, office phone, email, or cell phone. I looked for lowest price and highest rating on Angie's List and he came out top on both of those. He's got a picture gallery that shows the quality of his work. He was very friendly and puts you at ease. He warns you and makes sure everything is safe before he starts.

The brothers who run this company were easy to work with, timely, and fun.
I got a call back within a few hours of my initial inquiry. They were at my place within a few days to take measurements for an estimate.
Their price was best among four equally rated Angie's List companies (although still alot for 60 ft of fence in my opinion.)  These guys seemed eager to please and were very willing to work with me to reach a mutually agreeable price.
BEWARE...  without lots of room to work, your flower/gardens closests to the fence will either have to be moved or will get trampled.
On our first work day there was a minor scheduling error and the team did not show up or call.  Oh no - but wait!  The Neale brothers are completely professional. I understand errors like this happen and they were fast to apologize and make it right for me.
Overall this small company was well worth my time and money.
The final product is beautiful and we are happy.

After contacting Neale a few times by phone, I decided it was best to contact him by email.  Once I emailed, I got an immediate response and a date was set for them to come out and fix my front railing just a few days later.  They arrived within the window indicated and completed the work beautifully within a few hours.  They were extremely pleasant and professional.  The work was fantastic.  Neale provided the best price by far out of the several I received estimates from.  I would highly recommend Baltimore Wrought Fence and Rail.

I can?t say enough good things about Neale and his brother Jerome.  I called on a Sunday night and left a message for a repair to the wrought iron railings on my front steps and landing.  Jerome called me Monday morning. He was very professional and friendly. He asked me to take pictures of the railing and email them to him. I thought that was a little unconventional, but it worked out very well. It saved him the time of driving down to look at it and my taking off work to meet him.

Neale called me that evening after I sent the pictures. He was bubbly and a pleasure to talk to. A few of the railing posts had rusted so badly they were no longer attached. The hand rails were covered in rust. I told Neale the whole thing would need to be replaced for sure.  He said he?d be happy to replace it, but he knew he could repair it. I was skeptical, but if I could save the cost of replacement, why not?  Neale could have had a bigger job if he agreed to replace the railings, but he did the honest and professional thing. He only did what was needed.  I didn?t want to take time off to be here when the job was done. Neale said that was ok if I had an outside electrical outlet available for his equipment. Unfortunately, I don?t.  I offered to run an extension cord out the window, but he was concerned if he tripped a breaker, not only could he not finish the job, but I might lose power to something important in the house.  It was very thoughtful that he was concerned about such things as how it might affect me. Then he offered to come the next Saturday to fit my schedule.

The day of the repair, they were running about 30 minutes late and they called beforehand to let me know.  Neale and Jerome showed up full of smiles and laughter. They got right to work and completed the job in only 2 hours. Neale deftly, cut out the damage posts and welded in new ones. Jerome got to work sanding away the rusted handrails. After they painted the entire thing, it is as good as new. I can?t even tell the repair to the posts was done.

Neale did a great job. I recommend him highly.

I received an estimate from Neale back on 2010.  Once we were ready to complete the job in 2012 I called him with the original estimate and he still honored the 2 year old estimate.

Neale made a custom gate at his shop and took about 1 day to complete the installation.  He added ornamental details and additional safety features that exceeded our expectations.

The final product is exactly what we wanted and I would recommend him to anyone.

I called Mr. Neale back in June about a new railing because we were having our front steps and front walk redone.  He said he could do it and to give him a call when our work was completed.  For various reasons, our front steps and walk took much longer than we expected and I didn't call Mr. Neale again until Late September.  I was amazed when he remembered who I was and our previous conversation.  He came out to our house later that same day.  We showed him what we wanted done and he gave us an estimate before he left.  We were concerned about having the railing up before Halloween and he told us no problem.

Within a couple of weeks, Mr. Neale and Tim came out and installed our railing and did all the repair work in one day.  Because it started raining before they left, he said he would be back to paint the railing once weather permitted.  When the rainy weather cleared, Mr. Neale was back and painted the railing and all the repaired parts.  It looks beautiful!

I cannot say enough about the professionalism of Mr. Neale.  You immediately knew after talking to him a short time that the job would be done perfectly.  And it certainly was.  He listens carefully to what you want and explains what he is going to do. He is friendly and peronable, obviously an expert in his craft, and takes great pride in his work.  I would certainly hire him again and I highly recommend him to others.

The process was fairly smooth. The stairs were a bit of a challenge because they are angled to the right at the bottom of the staircase. Mr Neale put a railing on each side. The right side had a bend to the right to compensate for the stairs. My only complaint is that Mr. Neale got some black paint on my porch steps while painting the rails.
Response from Baltimore Wrought Fence & Rail
"One of those jobs where you feel damned if you don't. When we originally spoke he wanted 2 rails in the back of his porch.. nice sized rails fit there. I gave him a price for one rail (my fault) he took that price and ran with it. I built him one rail on site whereas he wanted 2, of course his paper work says one, he wanted two, refused to pay me my money unless he got the other one.. two rails for the price of one. I must review my speech in the heat."
