"This Pro removed an old storm door and installed a new storm door. Gutters were cleaned out and gutter covers were installed. Failed bathroom exhaust fan unit was replaced with a newly installed unit. In 2 bathrooms a medicine cabinet with mirror was installed, new shower unit was installed, new toilet seat was installed. Peephole was installed in front door. Internal door lock latches were installed. Outside downspout drain extenders were installed. Mini-blinds were installed at french door panels. "Kevin and his crew were a pleasure to work with. He replaced 2 large old wooden decks with beautiful composite wood deck boards. New white PVC railing. He wrapped the supports posts in white composite material. All no or very low maintenance. I am very pleased with the finished look. He also will do small jobs too. He replaced an exterior door threshold on a rental house I own. Would highly recommend Labrador Renovations for your next project."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

Ensures proper fit and function, maximizing insect protection and airflow.

A garage door screen can be a worthwhile investment, especially if you frequently use your garage for activities like a home gym, workshop, or other hobbies. It allows you to enjoy fresh air and natural light without worrying about bugs. Additionally, a screen provides ventilation that can improve air quality when you're working with paints, varnishes, or producing sawdust.

The best option depends on your usage. For occasional use, a DIY fabric screen is a low-cost, simple solution that you can put up and take down as needed. If you plan to spend a lot of time in the space, investing in a customized, professionally installed garage door screen can help transform the area into a new hub for your household.

Yes, a variety of screen materials cut out glare from the sun. Solar screen material can block up to 90% of the glare and heat from the sun, saving on cooling costs. It also offers privacy yet unlimited outward visibility. The cost depends on the size of the screen roll, but solar screens cost between $25 and $90 per roll.

Yes, you can replace the screen without removing the door in most cases depending on the frame holding the screen. Doors with removable spline and screen frames make it a snap to replace the mesh while the door remains in place. The best part is that it’s a simple DIY project requiring a few tools in addition to the screen material.

Yes, you can add a screen door to most door frames. The screen should be able to fit standard-size door frames, so unless you have an unusually sized door, you shouldn’t have an issue. Just make sure to properly measure the frame. When in doubt, it’s best to let a pro take care of this task for you so it’s installed correctly.
