"We were under a strict deadline due to a mortgage refinance, the appraisal needed repairs completed before we could close. Not only did Dave complete a consultation within hours of my request but he completed the job the next day and allowed us to keep our deadline. Even when we needed a few revisions Dave was available and accommodating every step of the way. Highly recommend!"

"The whole project (installing a retaining wall) was seamlessly executed and I was completely satisfied. Because John K. took the time to carefully and patiently explain the various options and the details of how the project would unfold, I chose D&D (of course, the competitive price was also key). They took care of all the approvals with the HOA, began work on time as scheduled, and finished a day ahead of schedule,"

"RK Boswell and Septic and Excavating is an awesome company. The only reason we did not hire them is because we did not have a septic pump we have an electric pump. We are new to living in a rural area and was not sure what we had. They came out, look over our system and told us exactly what we could do at no cost. Their customer service is awesome. If someone does this for us without securing a contract, I think you can trust them with the septic projects that you have."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Errors in site preparation can lead to structural failures or appear costly midway. Professionals ensure detailed, reliable home base development layouts.

Skunk digging looks like a series of small, cone-shaped holes on a lawn or around the perimeter of a home, porch, deck, or shed. The holes that skunks dig when searching for grubs tend to be no more than four inches in diameter and may be up to four inches deep.

Yes, trenchers can go through gravel. Gravel is made up of smaller, softer rocks that certain trenchers are able to cut through. Just be sure to use a rock wheel trencher or chain trencher, both of which are made to cut through rocky landscapes and gravel pathways without dulling the teeth or chain.

Sewer lines can be buried anywhere from 18 inches to 8 feet deep, with a common average depth between 18 and 30 inches. The exact depth depends on local factors like climate and soil type. In colder regions, pipes must be buried deeper (below the frost line) to prevent freezing, sometimes as deep as 8 feet. The digging depth can also impact the cost of sewer line replacement. To find the specific depth for your property, you can check the building plans for your system, which should be on file with your city or local sanitation department since permits are required for installation.

Chipmunks dig their burrows about three feet deep and up to 30 feet long. The entrances can be two inches wide or more. Chipmunks are fiercely protective of their burrows and use them to protect the nuts and seeds they gather for the long winters.
