"The quality of work was fine, the way they handle it was not fine. They set me up for three days at Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They come in and work at Thursday and Friday night. They told me that they had a big job that they have and that they would not be back on Saturday. They delayed coming back to the following day. In order for them to do their job, I had to move all the furniture in my house away from the baseboards and way from the wall so I have rooms after rooms after rooms of furniture. Then when I talk to him, I was trying to delay a day because I had something I had to do and instead of delaying the day, they delayed it until the following Monday which was this last month. I'm just now getting to where i can put my curtains back up and everything else but the problem was they came when I was not here on Monday. They insisted on the $1500. They said they wanted an extra hundred because they moved furniture and I had agreed to the hundred if they moved furniture which they did not. When my wife pay and told them that she is not going to send a positive review, they said "I don't care"."

As a family owned and operated business located in Howard County, MD we have been helping homeowners in all of Howard County MD, parts of Carroll County, Baltimore County and Northern Anne Arundel County Maryland and surrounding areas with their home improvement needs for over 20 years.
"We have used S&J Painting and Remodeling many times over the past 5 years, most recently (spring 2025) for handyman services. S&J provide services for a full day, so we typically accumulate a few projects. Our most recent project included replacing two faucets, fixing a very loose banister, repairing a hole in the drywall, as well as a few basic jobs, hanging pictures and installing bathroom fixtures. I expected to paint after the drywall and banister were repaired, but they took care of it for me. When replacing one of the faucets they found the supply lines were old and rusty. They went to Home Depot, purchased new supply lines and installed them at no extra cost. While there they picked up some brackets to secure some other loose pipes they happened to see while in the utility room. We really appreciate the extra attention to detail and doing more than we even realized needed done. We are already accumulating new projects. Scheduling and workday communication is excellent."

"My experience with Pro Stage from start to finish was awesome. Like most people do--I had several contractors come out to give me 'free' estimates. Each of those companies gave me one ridiculous quote after the other, where clearly their main goal was just to put as much of my money in their pocket as possible. A few companies, whom I won't name, even quickly gave me their speech about having their minimum fee for a customer to even be worth their time. (I never do business with those type of companies by the way and neither should you) Pro Stage was very different. Edwin was very personable and offered good 'ol fashioned honest business, where each side feels good about the agreement. Edwin performed high quality work and it was clear that he cared about the work he was doing, as if it was his own home that he was working on. Even a heavy flash flood couldn't stop Pro Stage, as they simply waited it out and then got right back to work. My neigbor was impressed with the work and requested quotes from Edwin and Pro Stage once my project was completed. We will also take sub-contract work from another company. We do not sub jobs out to other companies, but we will complete jobs for other companies that are looking to sub work out. We ask for one-third of the total price up front so that we know the customer is serious about getting the work done. With this money we will use it to buy necessary materials and supplies to complete the job. If the customer mentions that they found our company on Angie's List there will be a 10% discount applied to the asking price to complete the job.

You should paint your home exterior every five to 10 years, on average. Climate and surroundings can affect how well paint holds up. Wood siding will likely need a fresh coat of paint every three to seven years. Paint on brick tends to last about eight to 17 years, on average.
Calculate the square footage of the area you want to paint. Divide the square footage by 350 (the average square footage a gallon of paint covers). Multiply the number of gallons you need by two, as you’ll likely be applying two coats of paint. For a more accurate estimate, subtract the square footage of the windows and doors from the initial square footage total. It’s a good idea to plan for an extra gallon of paint to make sure you have enough to finish the job.
