Customers say: True professional

"Wow! Amazing service. I must've called 8 different places in a panic trying to get the brick mounts which hold the mantel removed from my old fireplace so the surface could be prepped for a new TV. Seemed like an easy task (I thought), but it was a little more meticulous than I thought. I called this team and they arrived same day! Incredible customer service and expertise. Not only did they return the day after providing an estimate and remove the brick mounts, they actually re-fabricated the brick to make the holes disappear! This team knows their stuff!! I was so impressed that in the Spring I'd like them to come and do some masonry work for me. Highly recommend. They really are committed to doing good work and meeting the needs of their customer Special thanks for seeing to my issue before my TV install. We are ready for the Superbowl!!"

Small jobs welcome

"Excellent experience all around. The two-man crew did a fantastic job installing the new fireplace surround. They were professional, courteous, and respectful of my home. They took great care to keep everything tidy and cleaned up thoroughly before leaving. The craftsmanship on the new mantel and stone surround looks beautiful. I’m very happy with what I got for the price I paid—definitely worth every penny!"

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

Homeowners can conduct basic visual inspections and cleaning, but professionals provide thorough checks that identify hidden issues safely.

Installation typically takes 1-2 days, depending on venting requirements and site preparation.

Yes, an outdoor fireplace should use fire bricks. Fire bricks are specially designed to withstand high levels of heat and thus won’t crack as easily as regular bricks when exposed to the intense heat inside a fireplace.

A chimney liner isn’t required for an outdoor fireplace; you don’t technically need one if the masonry chimney uses the proper dimensions and is built to code. However, a chimney liner does serve as a protective coating for the flue. Adding a liner could improve performance, safety, and durability. In short, while not necessary, it wouldn’t hurt.

Beyond having an inspection, it’s important to do chimney maintenance at least annually to be certain the chimney is safe to use. Cleaning the flue of any built-up particles, creosote, and soot reduces the risk of fire. Fortunately, the cost of hiring a pro to do a chimney inspection often includes a chimney cleaning, so you may not have an extra expense for maintenance.
