We are a family owned and operated home repair company. We offer leaf removal and snow removal as well as all general home repair services.

"Replaced a dryer vent line in August. Seemed nice in the beginning, workmanship is poor to fair. I didnt see that they had 'spray foamed' the old dryer vent port closed, they were suppose to cap it off. Instead they spray foamed it without any type of permanent cover over it. So i did it myself for an additional $25. But then refused to cash their payment. Started to get angry have drunk text messages after 9pm within the first few weeks stating they wanted me to pay online. I didnt feel comfortable paying through an online service (it was not Paypal or Square) Sent them a check. Every few weeks I started to get more angry text messages about how they are going to sue me. Cancelled the check ($45) and made a new one. Told them to come pick it up. Took them 5 months to come get it. Then they started to slander me to other contractors and people about how I dont pay my bills... Rude, unprofessional. Would never recommend this Kraig Eriksen & Viking Home Repair. For $450 I expected a lot more.."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

You’ll get better results if you soundproof the whole wall. A hole through which light can pass can also let sound waves in. Acoustical or silicone sealant applied to holes and cracks can block enough sound to make a difference. However, the more layers absorb vibrations and slow or stop sound waves, the less noise you’ll have.

There is no way to cut drywall without making dust, but you can reduce the amount of dust and especially the dangerous airborne particles by using manual cutting tools. Using a utility knife to score and snap your drywall will minimize dust production, and a jab saw for cutting cutouts for boxes and fixtures will generate almost no airborne dust. Even if you use these methods, you should still wear a respirator and safety goggles to avoid damage to your lungs and eyes.

There are several things you should not do when installing drywall. Common mistakes include: adding too many screws, over-sanding, not adding backing support, and installing drywall unevenly. You also should avoid screwing into the same place twice, installing Sheetrock with tapered edges on the outside, and making too many joints.

If you plan on heating your garage, you must install a vapor barrier when drywalling the garage. A vapor barrier protects your garage from frost and mold that can occur through condensation. If your garage is unheated, you don't need to install a vapor barrier. The only exception is if you regularly crank the heat in your car before getting in it. In this case, you may still want to install a vapor barrier, as your car can heat your garage.

Yes, taping inside corners is a critical step in the drywall installation process.  Properly taping inside corners is essential for achieving a professional look, and an installation that resists cracking and maintains its integrity over time. Taping the corners involves the application of a joint compound along the seam where two drywall pieces meet. This process provides reinforcement, conceals the seam, and prevents future gaps or cracks from developing.
