"I hired Neli over a week period for 3 different appliances, my dryer, washing machine, dishwasher, and even kitchen sink! I had a fantastic experience: 1. I fixed my dryer with Thomas' excellent remote guidance, changing the timer and the switch! Fabulous guidance Thomas, with lots of money saved! I learned a lot in the process. 2. I determined that there was no dishwasher leak and in the process learned how to check for leaks and trouble shoot for some common repair issues. It cost $40.00 but as I had some water on the floor, I was ready to get a new dishwasher. Now, I am confident that it wasn't a leak and caused by putting in the dishes in a funny manner and not a repair issue. I am using the dishwasher now again with no problem. 3. I determined with Thomas' help that the washing machine had a major problem and could have spun out of control into my wall....no question, it was time to get a new washing machine! I checked the drainage on my kitchen sink and learned how to empty out the "trap" and that most likely, I am okay, but what to swap out if I have continuing issues with slow drainage. "In contrast to many of the other people who do this work, Thompson's has someone who answers the phone and makes an appointment for an estimate.  I was especially pleased with the thoroughness of the explanation of the work given by Mike, who did the estimate.  I especially appreciated the how he explained in detail some of the problems that might come up, for example, that my basement stairs would have to be ripped out, and that my laundry sink would probably need to be replaced.  The vendor I spoke with before tended to gloss over what the work would actually be like.  Once the work started I saw that both these things had to be done, but I really appreciated knowing about it BEFORE the work started.  The price was good so I signed up.  I was pleased with the progress of the actual job, supervised by Danny.  The crew worked long hours, were pleasant and easy to deal with,  and finished the job up quickly. 
      I was particularly impressed with the support after the job was finished.  In the process of disconnecting and reconnecting the laundry sink, the plumber took one look at the 70 year old lead drain pipe and told me that it might get cracked in the process.  He was correct!  But I was very pleased with the response.  Jeff, the general manager, sent someone out right away to bust up a big section of the cement floor to expose the cracked pipe.  The plumber came in and fixed the pipe and a few days later another Thompson's crew came out to cover the area up with fresh cement.  It all went very smoothly with no extra charge from Thompson's.   One other nice feature, by the way, is the fact that the Thompson's warranty can be transferred when you sell your house.   So the takeaway is this:  getting a channel drain installed is a messy, noisy, dusty job, but Thompson's made it a better experience than it might have been.
