Customers say: True professional

"Koogle Removal was very smooth and efficient. I’ve had other removal companies in the past and they would leave a mess, when Koogle left everything was spotless. Very respectful and easy to work with, he’s my go to for any removal services. Definitely recommend."

"Dan and his crew at Kline and Son were great. I never had a better spring cleanup. They were on time, meticulous in their work, and did it all at a fair price. I wish I had found them years ago; it would have saved me a lot of heartache using companies that were undependable and/or inconsistent. It finally looks like I will have a worry-free spring, summer, and fall. Class act all the way around!"

"Xtra Landscaping was amazing to work with. I actually contacted them 4 years ago but the project was out of my budget at that point. I spoke to other landscapers, cement companies, etc, but no one was able to match their pricing and level of communication. They had a CAD drawing for me after our first conversation and when I went back 4 years later they had it on file. Everything was easy and smooth. CJ was our foreman--the guy would NOT leave me alone communicating. It was hilarious. And Tim, the landscaper, was hilarious and walked me through it all. I would highly recommend--don't think twice. I know I did and I wish I hadn't!"

"I would have given all 5s except for the quote. I was quoted a price for the removal of my shed. I gave them the dimensions etc. When the removal actually occurred and I gave the workers the check for the amount I was quoted, it actually should have been a quote per truck load. They needed 2 truck loads to remove the shed. Since the mistake was on the owner s part we split the cost of the 2nd load. The workers were great and I would recommend them but make sure I told whoever I recommend them to that the price is per truck load."

"Mark and his crew arrived on time and took on the challenge without complaint.  The apartment is down an alley and has steep
stairs.  They tackled the problem efficiently and well.  I would highly recommend them for any type of removal.  They were extremely helpful and courteous.  The pricing was more than fair.  I will use them again.

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

You should ask a few questions to ensure that your potential lead removal professional is experienced and qualified to handle lead-paint abatement safely, legally, and properly.

  • What are your qualifications and experience removing lead-based paint?

  • Are you licensed and certified to remove lead-based paint?

  • How do you test for lead paint?

  • What methods do you use for lead-based paint abatement?

  • What do you plan to do with the hazardous material when you remove it from the home?

  • Do you do replacement and painting work or removal only?

If your home was built before 1978, there’s a chance that any paint on your hardwood floors could be lead paint—especially if it was already there when you moved in. Because lead is toxic, hiring a licensed pro to remove it is mandatory. The average price for professional lead paint removal ranges from $1,500 to $5,300 and depends on the scope of the project.

The best way to remove lead paint is by wet hand sanding and removing all dust and residue with a HEPA vacuum. Professionals may also strip and scrape lead-based paint with a paint scraper. In some cases, you may choose to have a pro encapsulate or enclose your lead-based paint surface by covering it with a sealant or a new material. You may also choose to replace the material altogether.

Lead removal is crucial in older homes to eliminate risks of lead poisoning, which can severely affect health, particularly in children, by impacting development and cognitive functions.

Lead toxicity comes from inhaling lead or consuming it. Before the 1980s, when the government banned lead from consumer use, it could be found in paint, plumbing, pipes, ceramics, and even gasoline. Lead paint is toxic for the same reason lead itself is toxic, which is why lead poisoning from paint presents the same as lead poisoning from water or food sources, with a slight increase in respiratory symptoms vs. digestive symptoms. Lead paint is most dangerous when it’s old and peeling, cracking, or otherwise disturbed. This increases the concentration in the air and, therefore, in breathable air.
