My husband and I hired Joe Gibbs and his hard-working crew almost 3 years ago, and it has continued to be such a wise and lucky decision for us ever since! Joe's depth of knowledge about plants, shrubs, and trees is amazing, and his gardening designs give us full color and seasonal enjoyment all year long. He saved us money right from the beginning by transplanting our failing large and small shrubs and plants into areas where they are now flourishing in other spaces in our yard. He also saved our five Crepe Myrtle trees when other landscapers we had interviewed said they were unsavable. Joe is very honest and likable and has a mellow and good-natured personality. On every visit he always takes the time to chat and get a feel for what we think we want, but he also uses his excellent judgement and experience to sometimes prevail with his 6th sense of what he needs to do, and he's always right!! He personally instructs his crew on every nuance, and they work very hard and do a total cleanup every time. As my husband and I are aging, we're depending on Joe and his helpers more and more, which gives us great relief. We both feel so fortunate to have found Joe Gibbs and Springhill Gardens and Landscaping.

I recently hired Joe from Springwood Gardens to do some leaf removal in my small yard around my wooden deck. I was really impressed with the quality of his work and how quickly he was able to complete the job - he finished in just two hours! Joe clearly knows what he's doing when it comes to yard maintenance. He was able to clean up the area around my deck thoroughly, leaving it looking great. It's clear that he takes pride in his work and cares about providing quality service to his clients. Overall, I had a great experience with Joe and Springwood Gardens. If you're looking for someone to help with yard maintenance or leaf removal, I would definitely recommend giving them a call. They provided great service and a positive outcome, and I'm sure they'll do the same for you.

After a few days rain delay Mr. Gibbs and crew came ready to proceed with work discussed earlier in the week. There were several areas that needed attention. Mt. Gibbs communicated with crew as to which areas and tasks to be done and they went right to work.

Every fall I tried to search for a landscaper to remove the mounts of leaves accumulated in my yard. It is not an easy task. This year, thanks to Angi I was fortunate to have my request granted and got Joe Gibbs owner of Springwood Gardens. Here he listened as I described what needs to done , his pricing was fair. At a pre-arrange time, he arrived with his crew and they worked until the job was done. Because of his strong work ethic, my yard looks great. He made some suggestions and I will use him again.

SGL responded with in mins of my inquiry and agreed to come by the next morning to look over our project and give us a quote. We quickly came to a great price. They completed the project quickly and did a fantastic job. They also went a little farther and hauled away some storm damage and helped clean up the cul-de-sac with out us knowing. I will definitely use SGL in the future!!

I did not hire through Angie's List. I think it is important I review here, because it is relevant. I was referred to Springwood Gardens Landscaping by HomeAdvisor. The job was for end of year cleanup and making my yard pretty again. Previous landscapers had let me down immensely and now I was paying for it. Joe Gibbs came and we talked extensively about what I wanted/needed. I gave him $2500 and the work was to start the following Wednesday. They arrived around 2 pm on Wednesday and started the work. This consisted of removing 2 trees, cleaning out debris from the beds, pruning butterfly bushes, pruning the suckers off a magnolia tree, and pruning a crepe myrtle. Joe and his team spent several hours defining and edging the beds and lawn perimeter. They came back on Thursday around 9 and continued. They planted some pansies in the front yard. Joe strong armed my neighbor into trimming her roses along the property line because they would “take away from what he was trying to create.” 2x8s were placed along the fence perimeter to prevent digging by my dachshund. The next day it was to rain, so I didn’t expect them back. The following week, no one returned and I texted Joe on Friday to please let me know the schedule and also where do we stand with money. How much is left of the $2500, etc. He called me immediately and exclaimed how busy he had been. He said they would be back the following Wednesday or Thursday to complete the job. Said he would even power wash my deck for me. Wednesday came and no show, I took Thursday off from work to be there for the completion of the job. Trouble is, no one showed up and no one called. At all. And a lot of stuff was left in my yard. Some tools, an electric power washer, a string trimmer, a tree pruner, more flats of pansies, and 2 doors (a bi-fold and a glass storm door) that he took out of another job and intended to take to the dump (instead he dumped them in my yard). We are approaching the 6 week mark from the start of the job and not a word from Joe Gibbs or anyone related to Springwood Landscaping. I sent him an email last night terminating any further work and requesting that he pick up all of his property. I read that some have had excellent experiences with this company. I wish I was one. I am so disappointed. I ended up buying a lawn mower and a string trimmer and a shovel so that I could at least get it to look good now. It is spring and everything has already grown up over the work he had done. Oh and the neighbors? I am so embarrassed. 6 weeks in on a job and no communication for nearly 5? Totally unacceptable. Note, after this review was published he came and got his stuff.

Joe and his crew were very efficient and professional. Joe was very accommodating and worked well with me deciding what shrubs to keep and ones to remove. I will use their service again. Thank you.

We asked this company to design a new plan and install new landscaping. It took two months to get the final plan and then two months after that, I'm sorry to say, that Joe and his team took all of the money for the project from us and never completed the project. We have areas were no grass exists, mud, and no fencing, which was promised. We have holes where plants were to be planted, trees that still need to be moved and areas where new sod needs to be installed. The few plants that were purchased and installed on our behalf, many of them are very small and do not look good. Joe promised to provide regular budget updates, which he never has. He also made many promises to me and my husband about timelines for implementation, which were not kept. I would not use this man for anything! Stay away!

Joe Gibbs and his team (Springwood Garden) has done extensive clean-up work in my yard this year (2017). Joe is accommodating, hard working and dependable. His rates are reasonable and fair. He additionally has great landscaping ideas. I would highly recommend Joe and his crew.

Badly. He brought 4 men, said they worked an additional hour (worth $400), and there would be a dump fee of $349. He was willing to only charge $200 for the extra hour, but the additional cost would be $549. I disagreed and argued with him, told him I thought the extra cost was outrageous. I think this is a bait and switch scheme. We agreed finally that I would pay an extra $250, but I am unhappy about the whole incident, and would not recommend him. He needs to tell prospective customers how much extra the job will cost before the job is done, and not after it.

Joe Gibbs, the owner of Springwood Garden and Landscape was in my neighborhood promoting his business on a Sunday. After handing me his brochure and letting me know his current specials, we parted. I looked up his business and only saw great reviews. So I asked him back for a few minutes, explained my issues/concerns with my yard and asked him what he would recommend. He gave me some great ideas and never pushed his services. I took him up on his special promotions. The next day he had his guys over clearing out all the leaves that I failed to rake this fall, and cutting down some of the overgrown brush :) . They did a GREAT job and due to my budget, I can't do too much right now, but he left me with a good ideas I could do on my own as well as a great base line that I can work with! I highly recommend Springwood Gardens and when my budget allows will call upon them again to help me out with my yard and re-design!

The service was performed beyond expectations. Joe Gibbs was very responsive. He met with me within a couple of hours of asking for the service. During our initial meeting, Joe explained he had a $500 minimum to get a crew out to the house to complete the yard work. I told him what I needed and he kept adding on services until we reached the $500 minimum. Those services including installing a railing on two of my outside steps, cleaning the gutters, trimming our azalea bushes and all the decorative plants (peonies and rose bushes) we have outside. He also removed all the leaves we had laying around. I was very pleased with Joe's attention to detail and professionalism. The price was right, too!

Mr. Gibbs is a professional in every sense of the term.  He contacted me the same day I left a message through his website.  He has an excellent eye for improvements to the property at every level, from quick fixes to preventive maintenance to long time planning.  His aesthetics are excellent.  The crew that came to do work for us was tremendous as well.  Upon arriving at our house, the team leader spoke with me to make certain they understood what I wanted.   After completing the work, the team leader took me around again to make certain I was satisfied.  They did the best job on our property that we've had, and our flower beds look better than they have in several years. We look forward to continuing to do business with Springwood Gardens Landscape in the future.

Joe Gibbs and his crew completed the work quickly, and the projects benefited significantly from Joe's suggestions. In all cases, the quality of the work was very high. Joe is pleasant to work with and has a good sense of design. He responded promptly to our phone and email messages and kept us well informed about the work schedule.

We are pleased with the services that we received from this company. We found Joe very knowledgeable about trees and plants, and experienced when providing landscaping advice. The work they did involved cutting down several trees, moving some plants and flower trees to different locations, removing some plants, trimming various trees and seeded grass in small areas. They also helped remove a tree that fell into our neighbor's backyard due to storm. While I was a little hesitant when going along with some of Joe's suggestions, especially when it comes to cutting down trees, the results convinced me that his advice was totally right. Our front and back yards now look much less cluttered and things seem to be in better positions. The crew cleaned up nicely after their work.

They arrived with a competent crew, including the bonus of an arborist who was able to professionally evaluate and prune some problem trees and shrubs. Very happy with the service, very professional, and the timing of the visit and work was perfect - no waiting or stress if it would be done before Thanksgiving.

They were mindful of what I wanted in choices of plants but were very knowledgeable about other choices. They showed up at the arranged time for the contracted work. They came back several times over the summer to weed and this fall they came for another clean-up, mulching, and planting of some fall flowers. I have been very satisfied with service provided. Joe and his staff are very friendly. I have always gotten comments on the nice landscaping. I will be using Joe and his staff again.

That was okay. I think we negotiated some additional work. It took much longer than expected for them to do some simple yard cleanup. The real issue was the quantity.
