"I was very happy with response from Eddis. He gave me a quote upfront and followed it up with an invoice via email. I paid him half at the beginning and another half when he came back to install the window. He was very professional and respectful of my house. I will definitely use A.R. Glass again if I have window repair needs."

"The guys did a great job identifying why two of my windows were leaking water. The flashing off the roof was diverting rainwater down the wall of the instead of into the gutter. They fixed the flashing, re-caulked around all of the windows in that corner and even repointed a couple of bricks. Great work, they cleaned up after themselves, were communicative, and prompt. I will definitely use them again!"

"Sliding door unable to move for years. Dexter was the only technician that came and was able to repair. He fixed some damaged wood. Change rollers and made a few adjustments. The door felt like new. Very professional, communicated thoroughly and got the job done. We have some window work to do and we will be having him back to do the work. I can’t forgot to mention his prices are better than every company I’ve ever had out to my home"

"Awesome. Where do I begin? Josh was my initial contact who explained everything and answered my questions as well as my friend, Tom's, questions and concerns. Tom is a master plumber, HVAC guy and engineer. He had tough questions but Josh was up to answering all of them well. Tom and I visited Aspen Home Improvements in Lititz to view their products. Beautiful. We spoke with David, the owner, who made himself available to us to explain further any concerns/questions we had. Both of these men are very courteous and professional. Then, of all things, David, the owner, came out to my house to do the measuring of the windows!!!! The installation was done by Aspen's regular crew, 2 cousins who work together extremely well. It took only a day and a quarter to install 14 windows in my old home. The first impression that Tom and I had was that the house was quiet even though there is a township road that runs out front. Now, on this freezing day with the snow storm and wind outside, it is quiet and there is no draft or coldness coming in like it used to with the old windows. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Aspen Home Improvements to do your window replacement project. And, any other home improvement that you may have as I am certain that they would do a great work for you as they did for me. Awesome!!!!! Love them!!!"

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

Many kinds of window screens, such as solar screens, are designed to reduce the amount of harmful ultraviolet rays that pass through them and enter your home. The materials typically have UV-blocking properties. However, they may not completely eliminate all UV rays from passing through your home. Different window screens are designed for different purposes, and not all are designed to block or reduce UV rays. Do your research to make sure you’re getting the type of window screen to suit your needs.

Professionals ensure repairs not only fix current problems but also prevent future issues, improving efficiency and aesthetics.

There are many ways to customize screens, including customizing frame colors and mesh styles to complement your home’s aesthetic.

The steps to replace a retractable screen can vary, but these are the general steps: First, remove the screen cover to expose the screen mechanism and remove the clip that holds the screen in place. Next, depress the end of the screen mechanism so it releases from the door frame. Take your new screen and fit one end into the frame. You may need to rotate the mechanism to engage the spring before inserting the other end into the frame. Finally, pull the screen down the length of the door’s opening and lock it in place with the clip.

No, it’s not safe to leave a doggy door open. It might be more convenient, especially at night when you just want to lay in bed. However, when you leave it open, it increases the chance of other critters getting in without your knowledge. Also, it leaves your pup unsupervised for hours at a time.
