"Job was bid as 2 days, prime bare wood, paint 2 coats enamel. Price seemed fair for that work. The good: workers on-time and pleasant, all surfaces were well sanded, final finish looks good. The uncertainties: no primer in sight. Asked painter and he said primer only used on new cabinets not repaint jobs. There was some pealing and bare wood exposed on cabinet doors. Enamel paint can says to prime bare wood before top coat. Job bid for 2 days and finished in 6 hours because they only allowed 30 minutes drying between enamel coats. Paint can says dry 4 hours between coats. Maybe will be OK because it was a warm dry day. Won't really know if job will stand up for a couple years. Based on 3 workers for 6 hours, allowing $100 for paint that works out to over $90 an hour. Even with overhead that seems excessive and I feel like I am overpaying for what actually occurred as opposed to what was bid."

They did more than what we asked for including painting the doors and then when we asked to include the master bath ceiling after the job had started there was no charge! I was disappointed that the back gate was left open (we have a docile Golden Retriever who thankfully does not leave the yard), and two of the potted Plumeria plants (on front of deck, not close to home) were knocked over. "He repaired the siding and painted the entire exterior of the house and stained the deck in less than 5 days. The house looks beautiful now. He gave me a fair price and finished the work on time as he promised. He works and his crew are very polite and professional. Every day he greeted us when he came and notified us when he left and asked our opinion about the color of the paint very early in the process. He paid attention to details and did extra work without charge (power washed the drive way and fixed one of the handrail boards of the deck). We were very traumatized by the previous contractor who did the deck. But with Alex. We felt so much better. I will definitely recommend him with a big A+."
