"All the work was done safely, professionally, and quickly. Mr. Lopez consulted with me throughout the work process to ensure I was satisfied. The crew carefully removed objects that were in harms way, as well as carefully worked around nearby structures. The crew also did some extra work to move some previously downed trees to a non-conspicuous area (free of charge). The yard was completely restored to its previous condition without any work debris on the lawn areas. I could not have been more satisfied with the estimating process, the workmanship, and the price."

"I can’t say enough GREAT THINGS about Julio and his crew! He was so helpful with our family home landscaping (where no one presently lives) to cleanup and weed and mulch and fill in what we thought was a medium sized sinkhole. He found a much larger issue and was able to completely and professionally fix the problem. He not only texted me but did FaceTime to show me the problems and gave me a complete list of steps and charges. He also took photos step by step to show exactly what was done. He also provided a detailed receipt which I needed since the house is on the market to be sold. I HIGHLY recommend this company. He is trustworthy and shows up when he says and fairly priced with huge value."

Small jobs welcome

"Greg did a very professional job - showed up at the promised time, had all the right tools, had screen to shield my flowers from the chips, did the work promptly, did the work throughly, moved the first layer of chips away and then went in a chipped away more. I could not have been happier. If i need such work again he will be my first call."

"Life is about redemption. The ability to admit that mistakes were made, not just by the seller, but by the consumer as well. So this review is about setting the record straight for Atlantic Irrigation. Shortly after I posted a scathing review here, I was contacted by a young lady named LuAnn Lumsden. She informed me that the Owner Dianne Flurry had read my note, and wanted to reach out to me. I appreciated this gesture, since as the owner, I understood Ms. Flurry's plight in trying to make good on an unfortunate situation. Ms. Flurry did just that, in refunding the trip fee I paid, and offering me some free services to my new Irrigation System. I'm just getting around to typing this because of some personal time constraints, but the people of Atlantic Irrigation are Top Notch. Too often we only want to report the bad news and not the good. The thing that drew me to Atlantic was their knowledge of Irrigation Systems, but also the passion Mike Hanley had for his work. It actually blew me away. So when you set the bar so high on the initial interview, it's a really high bar to clear, and that's what Mike did. I truly regret, instead of communicating with the company, having to write a review that may have tarnished their reputation. I love my new Irrigation System. I can control it from anywhere, and my neighbors LOVE that I now have grass this late in the summer! Thanks again Ms. Flurry and your team. I appreciate you reaching out to me and making it all good. Regards -Will N."

"Overall, I had an outstanding experience with everyone from John Krause Construction. Their customer service was most impressive. They asked about and worked around my schedule, were all prompt, courteous and friendly, and showed a true desire to complete the work to my satisfaction. Their explanations of the work to be done and the time it would take were clear and accurate. They started the work in less than a week after I signed the contract, and completed it in a week. This was well beyond my expectations since a lot needed to be done, including drywall repair and painting some hard to reach areas, shingle repair, gutter cleaning, and concrete step repair. Their cost estimate was competitive and fair. There were a couple hiccups along the way, including matching the interior paint color and trouble with installing a door handle, but everything worked out ok. I would certainly hire them again for any general home repairs/improvements."

Brush Chipping questions, answered by experts

There are several ways to decompose yard waste quickly. The first step is to move all debris into a compost bin or pile. From there, microorganisms, bacteria, and insects will break down the yard waste into compost. To speed things up, shred the waste into smaller pieces, add live worms to the pile, or introduce nitrogen-rich compost accelerators like grass clippings, coffee grounds, and manure. Turn the compost over every few days. This process, called aerating, allows oxygen to get in and accelerate decomposition.

Wood is a very versatile material, so you can either compost it, use it for firewood, turn it into wood chips, or save it for future projects. If you don’t want excess wood cluttering your garage or workspace, you can call local community centers or schools to see if they have a need for it.

Generally, it is not necessary to remove old mulch before applying a new layer. As organic mulch breaks down, it enriches the soil with nutrients. However, you should remove the old layer if it shows signs of fungus or disease, which can be common in moist areas, or if the total depth is already too thick. Avoid letting the total mulch depth exceed 3 inches, as this can harm plant roots. If you do remove old, disease-free mulch, it can be added to a compost pile.

If you want to take the decomposition process into your hands to speed it up, water and sunlight are key. Of course, you can’t control sunlight yourself, but you can rake leaves into piles in sunny spots in your yard. In terms of using water, you can also moisten the decomposing leaves with water, whether by pouring some from a watering can from time to time or using a hose to moisten them.
