"Prompt, detail-oriented, and an overall very nice guy. I usually do these sort of jobs myself but a moldy spot on our textured kitchen ceiling made me call in a professional. There was evidence that someone else had tried and failed to match the texture before we bought the house and I was not going to make a mistake I would be looking at for years. Brandon came and not only completely remediated the mold so there was no chance of it spreading, but so perfectly matched the existing texture that I had a hard time figuring out where his patch ended and the original texture started. This is the third time we've contracted him for a project and not only will I not hesitate to do so again, but he is the only contractor I recommend to friends and family. Thank you Brandon!"

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel questions, answered by experts

Yes, you’ll use a macerator pump to install a basement bathroom without breaking concrete. The purpose of breaking into concrete is to connect the drain pipes to the main sewer line. But a macerator pump will bypass this step and break up solids until they are soft enough to pass through a discharge pipe. That pipe will carry the waste to the sewage line.

A walk-in shower without a door is referred to as a barrier-free shower or doorless walk-in shower. This feature makes the shower more accessible for people with disabilities, but it can also be attractive for minimalist designs because of the clean lines. A doorless walk-in shower also means one less surface to clean, but they can have downsides like splashing water and a lack of privacy, so do your research first.

Renovations that add functionality or more comfortable floor space generally add the most value when remodeling your home. Attic or basement finishing can add floor space without altering the home's structure, saving you renovation money while adding valuable space. Smaller improvements, such as installing smart-home components or replacing entry doors and windows, also experience high ROIs.

Before removing any fixtures or buying materials, you should plan the remodel out on paper, including ideas for how you want the project to look and what you’d like to keep or replace. Then, you should consult with a contractor in your area to iron out the details.

You can gut and remodel one room at a time. Though the project will take longer overall, there are a few benefits. First, it limits disruptions and allows homeowners to maintain access to a portion of their home while it’s under construction. It also helps homeowners manage their budgets. Not everyone is ready to remodel the whole house at once, and it may be more feasible to slowly upgrade your home over time.
