"The work was done on time and within contracted costs despite delays in permit inspections due to coved limitations. Windows, flooring, drywall, painting, plumbing, electrical, heating, and necessary insulation - all work was done in a quality manner. Joe Delfina, the contractor, was often at the job site and always available. I would recommend J D Michael Company to anyone seeking a reliable professional contractor."

"My experience with Taylor made was better than I could have imagined. They are pricier than many other options out there, but you get what you pay for, and much more. Description of the project: Drywall and paint throughout the house, plus an assortment of additional projects throughout the house, like adding light fixtures, putting in carpet, redoing hardwood floors etc. The price tag from Taylor Made almost caused me to look for another options, but I stuck with Taylor made, and I’m glad I did. Some highlights: Our project was a big one. As things came up, Taylor Made addressed them, or made recommendations on how best to address them. We got more value for the price tag that I thought I would get when the project began. Communication is my pet peeve with contractors, and Taylor Made used an assortment of communication methods to ensure that I was up to date on what was going on, and to allow me to chime in when I needed to. We used phone calls, emails, text messages, and even a software tool called Co-Construct ([*** Link removed ***] The software was especially helpful. Taylor Made put picture and updates on the website almost daily. There is also a messaging section that allowed everyone working on the project to see the communication all in one place. And there is a mobile app which is always useful. The schedule, which we all know changes all the time with large projects like this, was either followed as originally scheduled, or adjusted as I requested. The incredible communication allowed for Taylor Made to even get ahead of schedule at times, but only with my approval. The project finished on the date it was supposed to, even though I asked Taylor Made to not work for a few days for my own convenience. This was an unplanned change request I made, and Taylor Made was able to accommodate me on the fly. The crew was great. They were extremely respectful of the fact that my family and I were in the house during all of this work. And in terms of cleanliness, the project ran almost two months, and we had one day where the house was not left extremely clean. I cannot ask for much more than that. Kevin Taylor, who came in and sold us the job, was always available to help at any point. He did not “disappear” as many general contractors tend to do during projects. And most importantly, the project was completed with better quality than any home improvement/repair project I have ever had done. And it’s not even close. One lowlight, which isn’t even that low: The crew accidentally spilled some paint on my driveway. But, instead of hoping I wouldn’t notice or dodging it, they called me to tell me about it before I could even notice it. They told me immediately that they would address it by power washing it. Then power washing did not work, so they added some asphalt over the top and it looks great. So even when the crew made a mistake (which will happen at some point over a couple of months), they not only fixed it, but they were proactive about it. Again, I cannot ask for much more than that. Overall, if you want quality work, Taylor Made should be your choice. I know this sounds like a commercial, but I can tell you real life (scary) stories of how awful previous experiences have been for me with these types of projects, which is why I’m so grateful I found a quality and trustworthy contractor like Taylor Made."

"We had trouble with contractors telling us they didn't take projects as small as ours but Daryl went above and beyond to help us finish a project that we started and were unable to get over a hump. Not only was he detailed, but kind, clean, and conscientious as well. He really saved us!"

" Dimitri?s is truly a ?1st Class? company of highly-skilled professionals that provide impeccable work at honest and fair pricing.  Our particular work operations involved typically messy-type work in multiple areas throughout the house but each area was left completely spotless when the work was finished. Dimitri?s is reminiscent of times long ago when work was performed by skilled people who actually cared about quality and customer satisfaction.
Initially, we called Dimitri to get a third estimate for a new full bath in our unfinished basement. We were about to host guests for about 6 months so an extra bath would be helpful. Dimitri came to our home promptly, thoroughly scoped out the job, and responded back in two days with a great price. The other two contractors did not adequately scope out their work very well. Both were overpriced, unprofessional, and neither provided estimates back for several weeks. However, as it turns out, our guests will not be staying as long as planned.  Therefore, we decided to hold up on the extra bath at this time but decided to go ahead with a new utility tub and some electrical outlets for now.
On 8/5/15, Dimitri?s installed a new utility tub (from scratch) in our basement area and installed four new electrical outlets. While on the job, we added the replacement of internal plumbing in three toilets too.
We are very impressed and appreciative of Dimitri?s work quality, efficiency and honesty. In fact, we?ve added them on our ?phone contact list? for future needs and for our personal reference to family and friends.  Again, Dimitri?s is a1st Class company with 1st Class skilled people who provide 1st Class work!!
Thank you Dimitri, Dino, and Kim for your excellent work.

"I interviewed several contractors for my main bathroom remodel and chose VKB for their professionalism, design, and overall approach to the process. My objective was to have a large shower with a seat since the existing shower was the size of a phone booth and the bathroom configuration presented challenges. From the very first meeting with the design consultant, BURJU, I was impressed with her ideas and suggestions and her willingness to work within my established budget. She didn't recommend or suggest unnecessary or unwanted over the top items that would have blown my budget. Project manager, JASON, was on top of everything, stayed in touch with me almost daily, made sure I had all the correct cabinets and fixtures, provided me with his cell number, and asked each time if I had any questions. Last and certainly not least, MARVIN, the wonderful person who actually did all the nitty gritty hard work, worked nonstop to give me the bathroom of my dreams. I've never seen anyone work so hard and with the precision and perfectionism as he did. I absolutely love my new bathroom and would not hesitate to hire this team again. If you want beautiful, quality work, VKB is the place to go."

"Excellent - an outstanding job. The owner (Gary) did the initial estimate (which was the best of five contractors). A very professional and efficient crew started and completed the job on time with no issues. I will definitely include Perryhall Remodeling for all of my future home improvement projects."

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Most of the time, you’ll want to use screws on your subfloor rather than nails. Nails can actually weaken plywood, whereas screws can easily penetrate without damage. They also form a more secure connection because of their shape, preventing squeaky floors and tightly holding the subfloor in place. That said, some contractors do prefer nails depending on the type of floor covering because they allow for more flexibility.

Professionals ensure precise alignment and durability, critical for structural integrity.

Converting a carport into a garage can vary in difficulty depending on its configuration, the condition of the foundation or slab, and its location relative to the house. The process has a lot in common with a home addition, but you can often skip non-essential finishes like fine flooring, trim work, or even drywall and HVAC. The conversion requires experience with drywall, insulation, and other building materials to ensure it’s done safely and correctly. While it might be possible for a DIYer with the proper tools and skills to do the work, it is a complicated and potentially dangerous job. If you’re new to basic construction, it's best to leave this project to the professionals.

Begin by analyzing the blueprints and gathering the proper materials before framing a house. With the prep stages behind you, begin by framing the floor of a house on the newly set foundation. Exterior and interior walls come next, along with rough openings for doors and windows. Contractors will then add ceiling and roof rafters to finish things off.

You can enclose an open carport, however, there are several things to consider before opting to do so. You'll want to check local building codes and permit requirements before proceeding to make sure it’s legal. While you can sometimes stick-frame a carport enclosure, pre-fab kits are also available. Remember that you'll likely need to meet concrete slab regulations and provide lighting inside the structure. Both of which could substantially drive up costs.
