"Our travertine floor looks better than the day it was installed. Not knowing you should never apply sealant or floor wax to travertine to make it shine, there was 20 years of buildup on the stone. Javier and his team meticulously scraped off all those layers to reveal the stone beneath . He then polished the stone, bringing it back to life with a shine that looks like ice. Javier provides an incredible service at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend him for any of your flooring needs."

"This company was recommended by HOME ADVISOR and I was extremely happy with my choice, since they did a great job with epoxy paint on my basement's floor. They displayed a variety of choices on painting my basement flooring and after I chose the right option the delivered with high quality and professionalism. "It was amazing! Let me say right off the bat that Ken from Floor Gem was great. We had some water damage and needed to get the floor replaced before Thanksgiving. We had a little mix-up on the installation date and time but Ken was fantastic and with incredibly short notice he was able to arrange a team to perform our install. They did an amazing job! We couldn't be happier!"

"Nick and his colleagues were professional, responsible and reasonably priced. My garage floor looks gorgeous and the process was a total transformation to my garage. Nick went the extra mile helping me remove and replace some items in my garage before and after the work, including a classic car. Clean up was complete. I highly recommend the company."

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

Unlike paint, concrete stain won’t peel off. Instead, the color absorbs into the surface of this porous building material. While it doesn’t peel, the stain only penetrates the top layer of concrete, and as the top of the concrete eventually wears away, so will the stain. However, this process is much slower than paint peeling, especially on low-traffic surfaces.

The amount of paint needed to cover a two-car garage floor depends on the surface area and the product's coverage rate. On average, a standard two-car garage floor measures 400 to 500 square feet. Coverage ranges from 100 to 200 square feet per gallon for epoxy paint, depending on the product and application method. After some quick math, you may need 2 to 5 gallons of epoxy paint with two coats to cover a two-car garage floor.

Commonly used in garages, epoxy is a synthetic resin coating that goes over the top of concrete surfaces. If you’re deciding between polished concrete and epoxy flooring, the best choice depends on your needs and personal preference. Epoxy is durable and highly customizable, while polished concrete tends to require less maintenance. They’re both long-lasting with similar price points, and professional installation is recommended for each.

Sealing the concrete before tiling is recommended to help it stand up against any water that may seep through the tiles or grout. After thoroughly cleaning the concrete with TSP, priming with a concrete primer will seal the concrete. Check the label on the primer to make sure it is also a sealant and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application.

DIY is possible for small areas. Professional installation ensures proper leveling and finishing for durability.
