"Jorge responded immediately to my request for an estimate on lots of weed removal and several shrubs to be removed. His estimate was reasonable and we decided to go ahead with the project. With the amount of weeds we had I thought that the job would take at least 1/2 day. Jorge arrived with a two man crew and they tackled the job. Within two hours all weeds and several shrubs had been removed and everything was cleaned up and taken away. Jorge and his guys were very polite and did not waste any time in doing this job! We were quite happy with the result and are going to use Jorge for more projects. I am so glad that I went with my gut feeling and hired Jorge to take care of a job that I thought was overwhelming."

"Justin and crew do an outstanding job, always. We have been using them for several years now for routine mowing, spring/fall clean-ups, weeding, fertilizer, seeding, etc. This year we asked Justin to do a major backyard project involving tree removal, grading, installation of a stone wall, replacement of our patio with a larger one that includes a stone fire pit, and a bunch of new trees and plantings. They are extremely attentive to detail and created a beautiful result. I recommend them very highly."

"I contacted John's Landscape Services Inc because I was having trouble keeping anything alive in the front of my house and needed a design for the backyard.  The design service was $500, which is deducted from the cost of the installation (if you decide to use them).  I think this is very reasonable.  The designer and I were able to communicate through email and finalize the design.  We completed the design at the end of the summer 2014, but I could not get my act together in time to install in the fall and by the time I did, they told me that there were some plants, but they did not like the size of them, so we decided to wait until the spring.  I appreciated that.
In the spring of 2015 we started the conversation to complete the install of just the front of the house design.  The design uses a lot of boulders and succulents, since the front of my house is exposed to full sun all day long. The crew arrived early in the morning and started working right away and were complete by the time I came home from work.  The end result was wonderful.
I did have a few concerns (which were addressed), which is why I did not give As across the board:
1) Part of the design included 2 existing hibiscus plants that I have had for 10 years, I was told that they did not make it through the winter (which is understandable, since we had such a crazy winter).  A Rose of Sharon was used to replace the 2 hibiscus plants, my disappointment arises from not being warned ahead of time that this happened.  I think it would have been nice to receive a call to let me know.
2) I did not receive any communication that the job was complete.  I emailed them to ask if all the work was complete. A quick call would have been nice, a simple courtesy.
3) Within the week of the install, a bunch of grass started to come up through the rocks.  This was disappointing, since I had paid so much and the grass came up so soon afterwards.  I would have understood if it came up a few weeks later.  This was addressed with a complementary weeding, in fact the weeding even included weeding my planters. The planters were not part of the design.  That was unexpected and very nice of them to do.
One of the plants that they planted did die, but they promptly replaced it.
Overall, it was a good experience.

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

Clover is a sustainable, low-maintenance alternative to turfgrass, allowing homeowners to put away the mower while enjoying a lush and consistent lawn. The plant also attracts pollinators, adds nitrogen to low-nutrient soil, and holds up in a range of climates. Consult a local lawn care professional to determine whether replacing your grass with clover is right for your yard.

There are tools known as “sprinkler donuts” that are specially designed to aid in cutting the grass around your sprinkler heads by protecting them from your mower or weed whacker. You can also use a pair of hand shears to do the job manually if you’re willing to get a little dirty.

No, it's not really possible to completely prevent weed growth. Weeds are incredibly resilient—all they usually need is a tiny bit of dirt to sprout, so their eventual appearance is pretty much inevitable. However, you can definitely keep them at bay by getting rid of weeds as soon as you notice them. The longer you let them sit and grow roots, the more they'll spread.

Too much clover in your lawn can indicate several issues with your soil. Clover can thrive in soils with abnormally high pH, low-cut grass, and low nitrogen. Amending these issues can push clover out for good.

Hardy perennial clover loves the low nitrogen and compact conditions that often come with poor, infertile soils. But other factors also contribute to a clover explosion, including drought conditions, cool temperatures, under fertilization, and over-irrigation. You’ll need to evaluate all these elements when planning to kill off the clover.

Purchase a selective herbicide that targets clover and similar weeds but doesn't take out your grass. You can also keep it from growing with corn meal gluten or remove clover from your lawn manually at the start of the season as part of your lawn maintenance checklist.
