"I hired Long Roofing Products to replace my roof. From the beginning the sales man lied to me, telling me that they could take off my Gutter Helmets and put them back on correctly. This was lie #1. They have null and voided the warranty of my gutter helmets, because they were not supposed to touch them and according to Gutter Helmets all the roofers know this. lie #2 there were missing pieces on the ends of my gutter helmets to prevent the birds from getting into the gutters. The salesman told me they would order the piece from Gutter Helmets and replace it. This was never done. I have contacted them several times and they continue to tell me they will fix it and they never do. I would NEVER recommend them, I would only tell you NOT to use them. They talk a big game but never follow thru with their promise's."

Wrought Iron Fencing Repair questions, answered by experts

Some states require welders to be licensed and certified, while others don’t. However, it’s always a good idea to hire a licensed welder, regardless of requirements in your area, especially if you need welding for structural components of your home or gas lines. Licensed welders have gone through training and testing to prove their skills, so they’re less likely to make a mistake that could be detrimental to your home. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to determine whether your potential hire has a welding license.

Delaying wrought iron railing repairs can lead to further deterioration, structural instability, or even complete failure. Ignoring issues poses safety hazards, especially on stairs or balconies, and may also violate local building codes and regulations. Addressing repairs promptly protects your household and avoids more expensive fixes later down the line.

Repair costs range from $150 to $1,500, depending on the extent of damage, rust removal, and welding work needed. Extensive repairs requiring custom fabrication or repainting will increase the overall cost.

You should not do your own welding unless you have the proper training and experience. Most home electrical systems can only handle MIG welding, which creates weaker bonds than TIG welding and won’t work on certain metals or metal thicknesses. Both welding forms usually require the use of shielding gas, which can be dangerous to store at home. Additionally, welding machines create temperatures of over 3,000 degrees, and the sparks can blind you if you don’t have the proper equipment. As such, it’s usually better to hire a professional welder for your welding projects.

Most repairs take 2-6 hours, but large-scale welding or rust treatment may require a full day or multiple sessions, especially if sections need to be removed and reinstalled.
