"Hired to grind 2 tree stumps, very affordable compared to other tree service providers in area. Very professional and meticulous about his work. Ground stumps with no damage to existing lawn, would definitely recommend to family and friends."

"I asked Isaac to advise on removing overhanging and dead trees and he promptly came to discuss and offer suggestions. Made sense. I accepted a very reasonable estimate for the work (removing about 8 large trees and trimming several more and cutting to stove length for me to split). He arrived on schedule with one worker and a couple trucks and did a great job over 2 1/2 days. Trees dropped expertly. Adjusted plans along the way as other needs became apparent. I was very happy with Timber Tiger and have recommended him to several others."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

It’s not always easy to tell when a tree is dying, although signs like dropping branches and brittle bark can sometimes offer clues. It can also be difficult to know whether a tree is dead or dormant, especially if it’s a deciduous tree. You’ll want to wait until a growth season to get a good idea of a tree’s health. When in doubt, contact an arborist for a consultation.

You can use the formula mentioned earlier to calculate the depth of tree roots. Each inch of width of a tree trunk translates to six inches of depth within the root system. Large trees extend anywhere from 2 to 6 feet into the ground, with some magnificent specimens going even deeper.

When a palm tree no longer produces new fronds and old fronds start turning yellow-brown, that’s a sign the tree is dying. However, transplanted palm trees can show these signs for the first several months as they re-establish themselves. It’s best to keep watering and not give up on the palm tree until a couple of seasons have passed and you’re sure it’s not coming back to life.

If a tree isn’t pruned, it can inhibit proper growth and fruit production, cause damage to both the tree and your property, and create entry points for pests and diseases. Pruning a tree enhances its stability, appearance, shape, and growth. Pruning trees regularly can also save you money long-term by avoiding overgrown or dangerous dying trees.

Costs range from $500 to $5,000 per tree, depending on size, location, and accessibility.
