"Angel responded to my call almost immediately. He stopped by that afternoon to assess the job and gave me a quote later that day. He was able to schedule the work within several days after that. While he was here, I asked him to take a look at the toilet, which was not flusing properly. He was able to order a replacement flush handle from the manufacturer at no cost and once it arrived, he came back and installed it for no additional charge. All in all, a very good experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to call him again for any plumbing or heating issue and recommend him highly."

"Hagit and Carleton were easy to work with. They responded to our ideas and created an exciting contemporary design. They provided expertise that makes our medium sized kitchen feel spacious. They came up with efficient and aesthetically clever suggestions to make the cabinetry and countertop beautiful as well as functional. We also recommend their installer, Brian, who took great care in aligning the cabinets so that we achieved a flawless result."

"Went very well, he did a lot of different things from door repairs to walls and ceiling repairs. Very prompt and detailed with what needed to be done and when he could do it. Work was great and would highly recommend him and will be using him again in the future."

"I cannot say enough wonderful things about Flash Painters. They arrived when they were supposed to, finished the job when t hey said they would, cleaned up when they were done and charged a fair price for the work. When working on the inside of my house, they were meticulous in covering things so no paint got on furniture and when finished, went through the house and made sure I was satisfied with the job in every room. On the outside of the house, they did everything necessary to make the house look good, pounding in nails, filling woodpecker holes, and caulking where needed. They even came in and made sure all my windows opened and put screens in. I later hired Flash again to stain my deck and paint a ceiling. I am planning on selling in the near future and they helped make my house look great. I would highly recommend them."

"We discovered the issue of water damaging our garage during the house inspection.  We knew that we had to come up with a solution right as we bought the house. It took us a while to figure it out. We had many solutions from contractors that ranged in price from $500 t0 $10,000.  Bill's solution was the most logical and really proved successful since we've had a rain season with a dry garage!  As other reviewers pointed out - he is a man of his word.  I liked that I did not have to stay on top of him with constant follow up (I find that I typically have to call contractors with reminders).  At the same time, he was patient when I did call with questions or additional scope of work. He showed up with a crew when he said he would, they did exactly as we discussed and cleaned up the site.  Bill even had them add the dirt to the sides of our house in order to pick up the ground and keep the water away from our house.

Now we are talking with Bill to install a patio and re-do our driveway. Since we have this water issue in our backyard it makes the most sense to have someone like Bill install our patio to ensure that water is redirected properly and the patio lasts over the years. We felt like the typical landscapers wouldn't be able to address the water issue. Can't wait to see see Bill's design for the patio. Also, it's worth noting that prior to having Bill do this project I checked his reference with the City of Malden where he does a good amount of work - the city engineer spoke highly of Bill and his crew."

"They were the first to give us a quote and were able to come out as soon as we needed them to. Installation was smooth, and they have been good at following up to make sure the system is working. Because our radon is still slightly high, they are doing another radon test and will follow up if it comes back high yet again. We would definitely recommend them to others!"

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

Hairline cracks—tiny cracks in the surface—in porcelain sinks can happen due to age, chemical damage from cleaning products, dropping heavy objects on the sink, thermal shock from drastic temperature changes, stress during repairs, and manufacturing errors. Hairline cracks often start very small and grow longer and wider over time. While they may appear problematic, hairline cracks don’t indicate structural problems and may not impact the performance of sinks. However, they can eventually cause water leaks and mold growth if left to grow.

Yes, many services offer faucet replacement as part of the installation or repair.

The best option is to alter the plumbing. Moving and centering the drain pipe behind the sink usually does the trick and creates the sleek, minimalist look that pedestal sinks offer. If you don’t want to do any plumbing work, there are a few decorating hacks:

  • Painting the pipes

  • Placing shelves, plants, or baskets in front of the pipes

  • Adding a sink skirt

No, you don’t need to use plumber’s putty to install a sink drain. Other options are available, such as silicone putty or silicone caulk. Plumber’s putty is the traditional method and it’s easier to work with and easier to remove. It doesn’t need to dry before using. Silicone putty should dry before you use the drain.

The cost varies from $200 to $1,500, depending on whether it’s a basic replacement, repair, or a full sink and plumbing upgrade.
