"⸻ I recently hired Joe C. to install an EV charger at my home, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the start, he was upfront with pricing—no surprises, just a fair and reasonable quote. He communicated clearly and professionally throughout the process, showing up right on time and walking me through everything he was doing. His knowledge and expertise were immediately clear, and he made sure the installation was safe, efficient, and up to code. Everything was done neatly and exactly as promised. It’s rare to find someone this reliable and committed to doing quality work—I highly recommend him to anyone looking for electrical work, especially EV charger installations!"

"Top notch. Paul did a great job installing an EV charger in my garage. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He provided me a competitive estimate for the job but I was amazed when he actually charged me less because he said it took him less time then he had originally planned to complete the work. I highly recommend Paul"

"We have an older house (built ~1930) with largely original wiring and lathe and plaster walls. In other words a challenge when doing electrical or plumbing work. VMA Electric bid the job out carefully and coped with calm and competence with the inevitable difficulties (some incompatibilities between the main panel breaker and the charger's GFI, routing wire between the ground floor fireplace and the chimney on the roof, solution=an elegant wireless Lutron switch). Both the field and the office teams were efficient and pleasant. I would use them in the future without question. They were competent at every level. And while not the cheapest bid on all work, with an old house I have found it saves in the long run to go with an experienced firm."

"The electrician did an excellent job, following through until the whole job was complete and everything working top notch when he left. It was a very complicated problem, and took hours to resolve. I was impressed with his focus and knowledge and patience  to find out all the disconnects in the wiring.
I already referred this company several times and is my first go-to company from now on for any electrical issues. Thanks

"Preston was great to work with! He was quick to respond to my request for a quote and was at the house three days later to complete all of the work. He installed a hybrid car charger, fixed some outlets, installed a new thermostat and answered all my questions with patience and knowledge. Preston is incredibly friendly, worked so hard and I won’t hesitate to recommend him to family and friends and anyone else asking me if I know a good electrician!"

Ev Charger Installer questions, answered by experts

The cost of installing a 240-volt outlet for an electric car averages between $175 and $300. Depending on the type of outlet as well as labor costs, you might pay as little as $130 or upwards of $400. Hiring a professional electrician makes up the bulk of the expense but ensures a safe and code-compliant installation.

Setting up utilities on a vacant property usually takes at least a few months, or between 6 weeks to 16 weeks. This process requires working with the local planning and zoning department, hiring a building contractor or engineer to design the utility layout, securing permits, laying the lines, and connecting the utilities.

Upgrading your electrical system can save you money on your monthly utility bills by powering your home more efficiently. Electrification nonprofit Rewiring America estimates that a household could save $1,800 per year on energy bills by upgrading to a modern electric heat pump, switching to a heat pump for their water, installing solar panels on the roof, and converting to an electric vehicle.

You can plug your electric car into a regular 120-volt household outlet only if you’re using a Level 1 charger. This method is slower and may take several days to fully charge your EV. For faster charging, you’ll need a Level 2 charger, which requires a 220- or 240-volt outlet.

Having a Level 2 charger can increase your home value, especially as electric vehicles become more popular. Homebuyers who have EVs or are interested in getting one will appreciate the convenience of a ready-to-use charging station. The added value can vary based on location and buyer preferences.
