"If you want absolute perfection on work done on your property, with the uttermost respect, hire this company. EJ and his crew were here for eight hours, yes, eight hours cutting and trimming all the arborvitae and bushes on our property. There was not one bit of debris left behind after they cleaned up. You want top shelf service? Call them, you will not be disappointed. If you need anymore information, have Home Advisor get in touch with us, we will be more than glad to help you with any questions you might have. Jan and Rick Penney, Lynn, Ma"

"I hired Elmer and his crew to rehabilitate my landscaping after I purchased a new home. (I discovered that the developer filled a lot of the yard with stone dust, so the sod died. Also, the developer dumped a lot of dyed woodchips in the yard.) Elmer was very honest about the strengths and weaknesses about the existing landscaping. He and his crew removed the stone dust and replaced it with rich soil. They reseeded the yard and provided me with instructions about how to maintain the seeds so they would germinate. They replaced the bad dyed woodchips with more natural mulch, and they replaced dead plantings with live plantings that were more suited to the site. Overall, they did a great job. I would definitely hire them again for any future landscaping."

"Ever and his crew were professional and did a great job. I had them clear dense brush around the perimeter of our yard as well as trim brushes around the house. What a difference when a professional does it! Highly recommend!"

"The workers did an amazing job removing the trees without damaging the house. Very professional job. They tied the crane hoist to each tree, sawed the tree and then lifted it carefully over the house -- sometimes with a man riding the crane with the tree. The trees were then chipped up in their equipment at the street."

FAQs for brush chipping projects in Stoneham, MA

Topsoil costs from $12 to $55 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. For example, screened black dirt will cost about $15 per cubic yard. Loam (soil composed of sand, silt, and clay) costs about $17 per cubic yard. Standard screened topsoil costs about $20 per cubic yard. The type of topsoil you need depends on your landscaping plans.

Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.

When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.

On the inexpensive end, red and black mulch are about $35 to $40 per cubic yard, and are typically made from recycled waste wood like shredded old pallets or deck material. Cedar, cypress, and rubber mulch cost anywhere from $100 to $120 per cubic yard. A pro can help you determine the type of mulch most suitable for your landscaping needs.

Yes, you will want to confirm that the tree removal company you hire is insured before proceeding with the job. Tree removal can be dangerous work, and it's important to verify that the company carries the proper insurance to cover any onsite accidents or damage.
