"I hired this company for spring cleanup, and when they got here they were able to do so much more They edged all my beds. They mulched everything. They filled my new raised beds with loam. They cleaned my two ponds. They went way over and above what I expected, I would recommend them highly to anyone. They .were professional. They were courteous. They left nothing behind. It was absolutely the best experience I’ve had hiring someone in a long time. I couldn’t be happier. I would highly recommend them to anyone for any projects."

"Quote for work was very reasonable, showed up on time and worked quickly and efficiently to get the job done as described when quoted. Cleaned everything up and hauled it away and all of the dense vegetation that was in our yard has been removed. Everything looks great."

"Steve and his crew did a great job replacing the underground plumbing for our built-in pool. From Day 1... Very responsive, friendly, knowledgeable. They arrived on time, thoroughly reviewed and discussed the plan, taking care to minimize the cuts they'd have to make in our stamped concrete patio, even taking pictures beforehand so they could match the pattern in the newly poured concrete. They take pride in their work, and treated it like it was their pool, taking extra measures to protect our existing landscape, irrigation lines and concrete. When they ran into a couple of unexpected issues, Steve and his crew calmly brainstormed the possible solutions and found the right ones. They really communicated well and respected each other's opinions. We are so grateful our friend George recommended Steve to us. They exceeded our expectations, and to boot, was very fairly priced. We are 100% satisfied and comfortable highly recommending Crowley Pool Service. Thanks again Steve, David & Ryan for a great job! Sincerely, Lori & Jim Bridgewater, MA"

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Magnesium chloride is a relatively gentle ice melt product and, if used correctly, should not cause much damage to your property. The most important thing is to be sure you apply it according to the manufacturer’s instructions and don’t use too much.

Leaving a significant amount of snow on your roof can be risky. Most roofs are designed to handle about 20 pounds per square foot of snow, but exceeding this limit can lead to a roof collapse. A collapse can cause severe damage to your home and belongings and poses a physical danger to anyone inside. Furthermore, heavy snow accumulation increases the risk of ice dams, which can cause leaks and water damage to your roof, attic, and interior walls.

Yes, most states require that snow removal companies be insured under workers' compensation. This protects the employees financially if an injury were to happen (and when dealing with ice and snow, it’s possible that injury could occur). In addition, most states require snow removal companies to be covered under general liability, which would help cover the cost of any property damage incurred during the removal process.

Generally, the cost of ice dam removal is not covered by homeowners insurance because it is often considered preventable maintenance. However, the damage caused by ice dams is frequently covered. Depending on your policy, this can include interior water damage, roof collapses, and damage to shingles. Coverage for personal belongings affected by leaks may vary. It is important to check your policy details or contact your insurer to confirm what your plan covers. Keep in mind that any damage resulting from a DIY attempt to remove an ice dam will likely not be covered.

Whether or not an annual snow removal contract is worth it depends mainly on location. If you live in an area with frequent heavy snowfall, a yearly contract could be better than paying per clearing. If you live in an area where it only snows a few times a year, paying per snowstorm may be a better option.
