"Had two exterior doors installed by Beantown Home Improvements. They showed up on the day promised but it was too cold to install the doors so they double checked measurements, stored the new doors under my deck and wrapped them in plastic. Returned a few days later and were able to install the new doors. Installation went flawlessly and they did a good job cleaning up. Jarred suggested using pvc trim, glad he recommended it. Doors look great and seal quite well just in time for winter. I will certainly use them again on my next home improvement project and would without hesitation recommend their services."
"I had an energy audit and was given a list of contractors to choose from in order to comply with their savings plan. I called 4 places, and Mclaughlin was the only one that would answer their phones or promptly call me back. Of the other 3, 1 never returned my call and 2 were too difficult to talk to. I seriously could not talk to people there. Anyways, McLaughlin immediately and willingly scheduled a simple walk through of my house for free and said they could do everything the audit contract said and even told me that the contract was lacking vents needed for my attic (which was agreed upon by the state system and my contract was upgraded). After the walk through and paperwork was complete I was able to easily schedule the insulation job within a couple weeks. The day of, they arrived 10 minutes early (excellent) and were finished at 3pm (they gave an estimate of being complete around 3pm to 5pm). Everyone was nice and they did a thorough job and answered a few questions I had with ease and understanding to full explain everything. High rating on my end - my only comment is while they did a great job closing shop, they could have gottena couple brooms and swept as a final step. This only made me sweep parts of the house for 15 minutes but still sometihng that could have been done. I would highly recommend these guys - excellent communication, great workers who showed up on time. They also avoided sawing a hole in the ceiling of a bedroom (temporary access as described by the audit contract) to access a "blind attic" by accessing it through the roof and installing a vent where they cut a hole to enter, which was a sigh of relief.
"Evolution Siding did a recent replacement siding project for us at our house. Brandon and his crew were excellent. Even though our project was small, Brandon did everything we asked for in a timely manner. His work was very detailed and he did not waste any materials. His pricing was very competitive and they cleaned up at the end of both days. Brandon was great to deal with and communicated well. I would highly recommend Brandon, his crew, and Evolution Siding for your next project."
""We were very pleased with the Closed Cell Foam the Home Solutions Company did in our basement concrete walls. The quality of the finished and the integrity they work. I highly recommend Kennedy Caetano from Home Solutions. Thanks For all. Ana Borborema"
"The installation crew worked tirelessly and professionally to complete our fairly large vinyl siding project. It was expensive, but the transformation of our house was worth it. We are very happy with the results."
"I would highly recommend John P. Insulation. I got three quotes for my insulation job and they were the most professional during the estimate. They provided pictures of what they were going to do. They fully explained the job and what I should expect. The quote was fast and equal or lass than the others. On the installation day, they arrived when they said they would, covered my floors and completed the work exactly as they said they would. I had them foam seal, blow in insulation, install soffit vents and vent a bathroom fan. You will not be disappointed in the quality."
"We hired Matt and his team to install vinyl siding over our existing shake shingles, along with replacing all the trim and gutters. Matt was very responsive. After our initial appointment, he was able to schedule the work shortly after. He quoted 3-4 weeks from start to finish, which was accurate, despite the weather not always cooperating. They were very professional, efficient and detail oriented (to the point that they re-did an area that they didn’t like the way the finished product came out). We are incredibly happy with the final product - it looks like a brand new house. We would definitely hire them again. Highly recommended."
"They an excellent job under difficult weather condition. They took down the box surrounding the chimney, took the chimney down to the roof line, replaced the flues and re-bricked the chimney."
"Clean Tech Construction was terrific! The team arrived slightly before the scheduled time, removed the old, poorer quality insulation, installed new insulation, including areas that a previous company had not been able to reach, and cleaned up everything before they left for the day. When I initially contacted them about the work, they answered my phone calls within 15 minutes and continued to respond to any calls/questions quickly and politely. I would hire them again in a heartbeat."
To find and hire a reputable contractor for an egress window installation, you should first research local professionals and then vet your top candidates. Start by searching for local contractors who specialize in this type of work, read their customer reviews, and examine their website and portfolio. Once you have a shortlist, contact them to ask key questions: Are you licensed and insured? What is your specific experience installing egress windows? Can you provide references from previous customers? Do you perform the work yourself or use subcontractors? What is the estimated project timeline and your current schedule? How do you handle payment?
Expect excavation below grade, creating a well for access, weatherproofing, and thorough inspections during setup.
Most modern egress windows installed in basements open outward into a window well, although some older homes have in-swing windows. Egress windows, like casement windows used in other parts of the home, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, may open inward, and these windows are often larger than outward-opening windows.
When you need new windows depends on a variety of factors, including the age of your windows, the age of your home, and the climate you live in. If you’re dealing with budget constraints, you don’t need to replace all your windows simultaneously.
When buying new windows, you should consider energy efficiency, safety, and aesthetics to choose the right window for you.
An egress window is similar to a regular window. However, this type of window opens fully to allow people to escape the home or rescue personnel to enter the home if an emergency occurs. Egress windows are required in all finished basements before they can be considered a living space.
