"We were so happy with the work that the Cabinet Cures team did! I love my new kitchen! Refacing is the way to go if your cabinets are in good shape and you like your footprint - you get an entirely new look with less time and money."
Even the adjacent dining area benefited from the update.

"My husband and I have done a lot of remodeling in our home over the last 5 years so we have experience with many contractors. We had the entire Master Bathroom, and a social bathroom tile removed and replaced. We also hired him to install backsplashes in our kitchen. I am a research analyst by trade so I always get 3 quotes before hiring and so thankful that we choose Boston Tile Services, LLC. to give us a bid. I can say this with no hesitation that Cassio with Boston Tile Services was the best contractor we have ever worked with on many levels. He was respectful of our home and treated it like his own. The first thing he did was set up carpet runners to protect the path that he would be taking. He then put up a plastic barrier between the area that his team was working on and the rest of our home. Not only is he accommodating and understanding and easy to work with the tile work that he did was AMAZING. My husband and I have found our tile contractor for life. Do yourself a favor and give Cassio the opportunity to bid your job. Trust me you will be thrilled you gave him the opportunity."

"Larry just remodeled our kitchen and did an incredible job! He's extremely knowledgeable, easy to talk to, timely, and worked in an honest and professional manner the entire time. As first home owners, finding a good contractor isn't always easy and can be intimidating - but we feel we really lucked out with Larry. He also has a designer's eye and we felt that his vision for the home really matched with ours from the get-go. We'll definitely be recommending his services to friends and family, and we'll undoubtedly need his help ourselves again in the future!"

"We are extremely pleased with the entire experience. The salesman was professional and very knowledgable. The contractor (Dave) worked alone and completely transformed our kitchen in a few days. Amazing! We totally recommend this company for cabinet refacing."

"We hired Pontes to finish painting our house after we had a very bad experience with another contractor. They were able to get us scheduled and complete the job in lightening time! This is the most efficient crew I have ever witnessed - no downtime and perfect synchrony with each other. They are very courteous, easy to work with, and take pride in their work. Terrific experience!"

Cabinet Contractors questions, answered by experts

While most kitchen island installations do not require a permit, some situations do. Any major kitchen renovation will require one, and depending on your municipality, you might also need one if you install new plumbing or electrical work.

Your kitchen island installation pro will be able to determine if you need a permit for your job, which can run you between $460 and $2,900, depending on the permits required.

No. Drywall anchors aren’t a good choice for hanging a cabinet because the opening and closing of the cabinet door can cause things to shift, the weight of a mirror is more than most drywall anchors can accommodate, and adding the weight of items stored in the cabinet will make this an even more precarious option. Using the correct mounting bracket for the cabinet you choose is the best way to hang a medicine cabinet.

In a kitchen installation, starting with the foundation and structural elements before moving on to the finishing touches is essential. Framing, plumbing, and utilities should go first, followed by cabinetry and countertops, then plumbing fixtures and new appliances. Flooring, paint, tile backsplashes, and similar finishing touches should get installed last.

It's possible to replace lower kitchen cabinets without removing the countertop. However, there are some special considerations to keep in mind. Expect to disassemble the existing cabinets without compromising the countertop's support. You might not be able to reuse the cabinets you remove. Next, you'll have to slightly modify the tops of the new cabinets and install blocking after installation to attach the base to the countertop.

It is generally more cost-effective to purchase stock or semi-custom cabinets than to have them custom-built. The best option depends on your budget and customization needs.

Here is a breakdown of the average costs per linear foot:

  • Custom Cabinets: $500 to $1,200. The final price is influenced by factors like materials, size, and design complexity. For example, a basic slab cabinet door might cost $60 to $70 for materials, while a more intricate mullioned glass inset panel door can range from $100 to $200 per door.

  • Semi-Custom Cabinets: $150 to $700.

  • Stock Cabinets: $100 to $400. These are pre-built and the most affordable option, but they offer limited customization and may not be suitable for rooms with unusual shapes or high ceilings.
