Customers say: True professional

"Adam was great! He took the time out of his busy schedule to do a proposal with design before I had closed on my Condo. Design was terrific- the project was finished in a timely manner. His crew was fantastic. At the end of day one would never even know that the bathroom had been demolished. I am overjoyed-"

"We had G & R work on our secondary residence so most of our communication was by email and text. They were very responsive and clear about scheduling and transparent about costs of materials."

Small jobs welcome

"Very professional, honest, hard working team. I had several quotes to replace the cedar siding, and repair dry rot around the sill plate. Boris is a General Contractor and the only one that would take on not only the siding but repaired the extensive dry rot around the front door and 2 windows. His team is 2nd to none. I plan to use them for a future Bath and Kitchen remodel. There were no hidden costs, everything was fair and reasonably priced."

Interior Design and Decorating questions, answered by experts

Professionals often use extra materials that aren’t included in traditional tree decorations, like pins and more expensive wired ribbon that can be carefully shaped. But even without these elements, you can improve your decorating by taking a few professional cues.

Always start by picking an overall theme, including colors, types of ornaments, and the overall feeling or message you want to create. Fluff your tree to its fullest potential, and include a generous amount of garlands, lights, ornaments, and bows to complete the look. Professional trees tend to be very “full” and well-balanced, with only a couple of ornament types to help the decorations flow.

One downside of installing a soffit above your kitchen cabinets is that it may make your kitchen appear smaller. This visual illusion occurs because the soffit may make the cabinetry and ceiling appear shorter. However, the benefit of being able to hide unsightly wires or plumbing or HVAC fixtures may be worth the disadvantage of a smaller-seeming kitchen. Consider making your kitchen appear larger by finding ways to add more light and visual appeal to the high spots in the room.

Options include blackout, sheer, and thermal curtains in various fabrics and styles.

If you need help with your holiday decorating, the first step is determining your lighting and decor needs to narrow down your pro options. For example, if you want a custom outdoor light display with all of the bells and whistles, you’ll likely need to hire a local holiday light installer who specializes in that service. But if you only need to hang some lights inside in hard-to-reach places, consider hiring a handyperson or an interior decorator instead. It’s best to contact at least three different companies for quotes and to find out what services they offer.

A hearth often looks like a tile or brick floor that juts out from and surrounds your fireplace. A hearth can be made of stone, brick, ceramic, or any other fireproof material. Brick offers a classic and traditional vibe, whereas a hearth made of marble or ceramic may lean more toward modern aesthetics. The most common depth of a hearth is 20 inches.
