"This company had quick response, was able to do repairs for my elderly parents at last minute notice. Friendly quality service. I requested quotes from another company and was stood up. By the time the other company responded Phil had arranged for the Job to get done! My parents Deck repair is completed. Now that’s service!! I already requested for another estimate on more work needed. Give them the details of what you expect and let them do the work!"

"I was hoping to be writing a 5 star review but I feel like I was taken advantage of. The owner gave me a quote to clean the roof, $900 and noticed missing shingles . He quoted an extra $350 to fix the tiles. I agreed, after he finished the job he charged me 1500.00 because he said he did extra fixes. I have no way of knowing what he did or didn?t do and he should?ve told me he was changing the price before hand. When I told him that, he listed everything he did and claimed he deserved the extra $. I had no choice but to pay him -without having a husband around I felt strong armed. The next day I sent him a text and told him how I felt and that it was bad business. He still continued to justify his price . I was hoping to find a good, honest business to call on for other projects that are coming up but he chose to leave on a bad note. It?s unfortunate but I can?t trust him now."

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

Coping is the material that lines the perimeter of a pool and seals the transition between the top of the pool wall and the water. Decking surrounds the poolscape and extends far beyond the water's edge to provide a safe walking and lounging area. In short, coping is the border between the decking and the pool itself.

Cold temperatures can make your deck boards contract. If they don’t contract evenly, they can put pressure on the deck screws and cause them to pop out, making a noticeable sound. Winterizing your deck can help prevent this from happening.

Yes, it is possible to build a small, basic deck for $5,000, particularly if you use less expensive materials and a simple design. To stay within this budget, consider a size under 10x12 feet and use affordable materials like pressure-treated wood or cedar. While the general cost for deck building ranges from $4,350 to $12,560, with an average around $8,200, some projects can be completed for as little as $4,350. You can also save on labor costs by doing the work yourself, but be aware that mistakes could end up costing more than hiring a professional. A contractor may have a higher upfront cost, but they can ensure a safe, stable deck that will last.

A sunroom is worth installing on a deck, both for the value and your own enjoyment. A Florida room addition costs between $10,000 and $140,000, so it’s pretty expensive. However, a quality sunroom can offer a 50% return on investment, making your home more sellable. Plus, if it’s a space you and your family enjoy relaxing in daily for years to come, it’s worth the money, time, and effort, even without the added monetary value.

If you want to make a deck cleaner from products already in your home, there are various options. The most common is to use a gentle blend of 1 gallon of warm water and 2 tablespoons of ammonia-free dish soap. You can also mix water with distilled vinegar. Sprinkling on some baking soda can help to remove mold and mildew. You can add oxygen bleach (but never damaging chlorine bleach) to the water and ammonia-free dish soap solution for something a bit stronger.
