Building projects are rarely stress free. They can be more involved and complex than expected, often leading to confusion and frustration. We know. We've been there ourselves. We have houses and families. We've built additions for in-law apartments and removed bearing walls to make our kitchens bigger. We've had water in our basements, built and re-built decks, repaired retaining walls and and renovated old properties. We know what building projects can be like because we've done them too. Our goal is to provide our clients with step by step, start to finish engineering guidance that results in peace of mind and confidence in a job done right. We take great pride and care in working to understand the needs and expectations of our individual clients, and bringing our experience and expertise to bear on their specific, nuanced needs. Our reputation is based on service, safety and quality, regardless of how large or small the job. Call us today - we're here to help!

"Their service was excellent. They came out to our western mass region from the Boston area- unusual .....we usually get the cold shoulder from Boston. Even several local engineers turned us down. The structure is an 1885 church and a structural report was required from the local building department. They were very professional, quoted a price, made the trip and wrote up an encouraging and positive report. We have been fundraising since then to continue the restoration. Thank you Veritas!"

Haydenville Woodworking and Design, Inc. is a well-established firm offering comprehensive construction services. The business was started over 30 years ago in a small out building turned into a shop behind the founder’s home. It quickly expanded from those meager beginnings to a construction company based in South Deerfield, MA. Two longstanding employees purchased HWD from the founder in April 2017.

SolarFlair works with businesses and homeowners that are interested to reduce their utility bills and their carbon footprint by converting to solar power. We are a licensed and certified solar engineering and design firm with over 10 years of experience in the industry. We do not use subcontractors and have over 200 satisfied clients that are happy to share their SolarFlair experience.

"The original installation process went very smoothly, however,, A few years after the panels were installed, a leak developed at one of the punctures for the panel mounts. we first called back the roofer to see if the leak was not due to the solar mounts, but he confirmed that the leak was indeed right under one of the mounts. SolarFlair came to take a look and applied a product to the interior of the roof which did nothing to stop the leak, they came back and applied roof tar on the outside which again did not stop the leak. this process has been very frustrating for the lack of communication, the slowness and incomplete response to the issue. They've closed out the work each time they've done something before veryifying that the leak has been fixed (it still has not been fixed). The company had taken over 9 months from our inital call, and we still have a leaking roof. we have very little communication from SolarFlair as to what actions they have taken, and what next they could do. it seems clear that part of the roof needs to be replaced to fix the leak."

Our Company will tackle just about any job. We have 3 basic Employees, and we sub out most work other then the finishing work, that Gene will do. We have great Subs that we work with that will come in right on time, get in get out with quality work, Gene is very detailed and keeps an eye on everything. You can compare him to Mike Holmes on Homes, he believes in doing it right the first time. We make sure all our subs are licensed and Insured. WE have Contracts that consist of So much of a down payment to get the job started and a materials will come out of it along with a cash advance for trip charges and initial labor fees. As we reach each stage of the job their will be a draw proportion out for materials to start and complete each stage, and at the completion the balance will be paid. For Angie's List members, either you can have $500.00 Gift Certificate at your choice of Home Goods Stores for Home Accessory's or put toward some extra work not on the Contract. For Any Jobs $20,000.00 and above. We love doing houses and we love helping you make good decisions about your homes to fix them up and we will try our best to give you beautiful jobs done with materials that are not cheap cheap or not to to expensive. Great Middle of the Line. We will give you References upon request and will provide you with some now.. Thank you so much, looking forward to serving you. The Floods

Structural Engineering questions, answered by experts

A 4-inch-thick concrete slab can support around 4,000 pounds per square foot if a contractor reinforces the slab with rebar, while that same slab without reinforcements will support closer to 1,000 pounds. For the purposes of a patio, 4 inches in thickness without reinforcement should suffice unless you’re installing heavy kitchen equipment or a hot tub on it. In those cases, reinforcing your slab and sticking with 4 inches of thickness should provide plenty of strength.

Their expertise in identifying potential problems early and implementing durable solutions safeguards your home’s integrity.

A split-level home is one that has several staggered floors connected by short staircases, while a split floor plan separates the primary bedroom from the rest of the bedrooms. Split floor plans are most often found in single-story homes, while split-level homes are always at least two stories.

Yes, all states require structural engineers to carry the proper license, with specifics determined by each state. You can use Angi’s state licensing tool to confirm that the structural engineer you’re considering holds the required licensing to tackle your job. Hiring an unlicensed structural engineer will not only cause issues with permits but it could also lead to an unsafe building. The cost of a professional, licensed, and experienced engineer is well worth the investment.

Costs depend on desk size, labor, included features like drawers or motorized height adjustments, and required wall anchoring.
