"Pav's crew knew what they were doing and worked through some brutally hot weather every day to complete the job as promised. We have new siding and sliding doors installed. The price was fair and was the same at closing as it was in bidding. The workmanship and attention to detail continued through to the final cleanup. Excellent experience."

The shingles are beautiful and we have all ready had compliments on them. The only thing I would say is we felt the roof project was a little pricey. Thank you to the crew!"

"New home construction in Wellfleet I hired Carlos to do the hard scape (30k) work. He gave us a competitive bid and had several crews to get the job done right and fast. Each of his crews that worked on our project were highly experienced and craftsmen. They were courteous, responsive and always kept the site clean and in order. This company goes out of the way to make sure you are satisfied and does a really nice job recommending ideas and ways to make the project standout. In todays environment with everyone short staffed Carlos had the crews and experience to get the work done. He was resourceful and found materials that were in short supply and always kept the project moving. We are exceptionally pleased and would hire Masonry Plus in a heartbeat. Highly recommend."

Siding FAQs, answered by experts

You should consider acclimating the wood for your shou sugi ban siding for around two weeks before installation to balance its moisture content and prevent warping. That additional step will ensure your materials are prepped for installation, avoiding complex repairs down the line. Consult your siding contractor for additional installation instructions for this specialized material.

The necessary frequency of mold cleaning in your home will depend on several factors, including the climate, the presence of moisture sources, and the type of siding. It's generally recommended to inspect your siding regularly and clean any mold growth as soon as it appears to prevent it from spreading or causing damage. If you’re not sure how often you should clean mold off siding, you can always contact a siding contractor near you to consult on what maintenance schedule will work best for your home.

Oil-based stains are preferred over latex or water-based varieties because your home's cedar siding must constantly withstand the weather conditions in your location. These stains provide better penetration into the wood to more effectively protect it from UV rays and water infiltration. Oil-based stains are available in transparent, semi-transparent, opaque, or solid-color selections to achieve the look you desire.

You have several options you can choose from for climbing plants without damaging your siding. Climbing hydrangea and Carolina jessamine are two options, and jasmine, honeysuckle, and sweet pea are a few others. Look for these climbing plants to add lovely curb appeal and are less likely to cause damage to your siding.

Fiber cement shingle siding is made from a blend of common ingredients, including cement, sand, water, and wood or cellulose fibers. The composition of the mixture varies depending on the manufacturer, however, with some makers opting to include special additives to improve longevity and resilience, and some include dyes and pigments to create custom colors that don’t require painting.
