Customers say: True professional

"I just had an electrical job done by Sean at my house in Mashpee and I honestly cannot say enough good things about him and his company. He gave me a reasonable quote for what I needed done and then communicated with me by email, phone and text to make sure I understood the job and knew what would be happening next. He had to coordinate the job with Eversource which was not easy at all, but he kept at them. He apologized to me several times for how Eversource kept rescheduling when it wasn’t his fault at all. When the day came to have it done, Sean and his crew were on time, got right to work and were very professional. And they always took their shoes off before coming in the house! The job was inspected by the town, which he coordinated, and it was done right and passed. I definitely recommend them and I will be using them again myself!"

"Springer Electric team ( Dave, Nick, Zack) worked at my home doing full upgrade of all electrical on my basement. Additionally added outlets, fixed light fixtures and added over 7 smoke carbon alarms. They did a superior job! They show up on time and on schedule. They are all professional, respectful, efficient, knowledgeable and very experienced. They cover the floors and do a thorough cleanup too. I have had them do work on my home over the last 15 years. "The problem turned out to be a burned out small electric door switch. I believe the price was way too expensive for the service performed and the price of the door switch. What more can I say? It got done."

"We had an electrical fire in our basement and I called Jason Wood Electric. He was able to come within 24 hours, repair all that needed to be repaired, his prices were more than fair and his staff was so friendly. He turned what was a crisis into such a pleasant experience. I highly recommend him and will be using him again to install a generator."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

These advanced generators use a key fob or a smartphone app to remotely start, which is ideal for getting power back on immediately without venturing outside. This feature is more common on whole home generators, but you may be able to find it on large portable generators, too.

Electric water heaters use a high amount of electricity, so they’re best for homeowners who subsidize their electric bill with solar or who live in an area with inexpensive electricity. For others, gas water heaters versus electric water heaters may be the more cost-effective solution, with the added bonus of heating water quickly and efficiently. No matter which you choose, you can lower your water temperature as low as possible to keep costs down.

No. Do not use a 14-gauge wire on a 20-amp outlet. A certified licensed electrician would know that the National Electrical Code (as per Section 240.4(D) subsection 3) requires 14-gauge wires to be used with a maximum amplitude of 15. Therefore, you should only use 12-gauge wires on 20-amp outlets.

Usually, a light switch goes bad due to normal wear and tear. Light switches are mechanical devices with internal moving parts. These parts make contact with each other, and, over time, the friction can wear them down, causing the switch to feel loose, arc, or fail to operate.

Simple moves on the same base or within a few feet will not take long, roughly three to four hours. Larger moves onto a new wall or transitioning a box from inside to outside will take 8 to 12 hours to complete. Ask your electrician for a time estimate prior to installation.
