"I have 3 sets of sliders and storm windows too. I had the same window cleaner for 26 years, and he died last summer. I was looking for somebody in that same ballpark that I was paying him. I paid AAA Sparkling $260 - their price was $10 more than what I had paid this man. Some providers that I checked with wanted $600 or $700 for the job. They were fantastic. It was the cleanest my windows ever were. The two guys that came out were fast, clean and careful. They were punctual and worked without stopping. I can’t say enough good things about them. They cleaned both inside and out. I have storm windows too, and so it was actually 4 panes for each window. I would rate them highly and would continue to use them in the future. Two of my friends were impressed with their work, and I referred him to them."

"American gutter did a great job replacing our two gutters. They were on time, the crew was friendly, the Work was executed well, and they cleaned up after themselves. I would use them again in a heartbeat."

"10 Stars for Ned Stevens gutter cleaning!! I had small trees growing in my gutters and the front gutter was coming loose. They cleaned the gutters, fixed the gutter where it was loose and they bagged all the trash up. They did not charge extra for the loose gutter either. Nice and neat and EXCELLENT service!! So happy I found you guys!! Kathy from Dallas"

Gutter Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can use a pressure washer to effectively clean debris, dirt, and grime from your gutters, but it must be done with caution to avoid damage. Always use a low-pressure setting, with a recommended range between 1,200 and 1,800 PSI. Excessive pressure can bend or dent aluminum gutters, damage seams, peel paint, or even knock shingles off your roof, potentially leading to leaks and moisture issues. For a safer alternative, consider soft washing or cleaning them by hand. When using a pressure washer, it is safer to use gutter elbow extensions from the ground rather than climbing a ladder, as the force can cause instability. Due to the risks, you may want to hire a licensed and insured contractor for the job.

Downspouts channel water from your roof and gutters into the ground following a specific route so water doesn’t accumulate around your house’s foundation. Without a downspout, the standing water will wash away material and disrupt the soil, leading to foundation erosion. The standing water will also form ice around your house during cold weather, causing a safety hazard.

Ensures thorough cleaning, preventing blockages and potential water damage.

Icicles don't necessarily mean your gutters are clogged or bad, but they can indicate an underlying issue. While clogged gutters can cause icicles to form, the problem could also be an ice dam on your roof from poor insulation. In that case, melting snow can refreeze in the gutter even without a clog. Regardless of the cause, the weight of the ice can damage your gutters or even rip them completely off the house. If you are unsure of the underlying problem, it's best to call a roofing company to assess the issue and implement a permanent solution.

Although having gutter guards and hoods dramatically reduces the number of times you will have to clean out your gutters, it doesn't necessarily mean that you won't ever have to clean your gutters. Experts recommend cleaning your gutters at least once every two years, even with gutter guards and hoods installed. If you don’t want to clean them yourself, you can hire a gutter cleaning company near you to complete the job.
