"SJ Coverup did a great job putting up wallpaper in our dining room and on an accent wall in our family room. They were very professional, responsive, and did great work. This was our first wallpapering job and I was a little concerned on how well everything would line up with the pattern. We were beyond impressed with how it came out. We plan to wallpaper our powder room and would definitely hire these guys again."

"I HIGHLY recommend Target Paint for all your painting needs. The price was beyond fair and they went above and beyond! They showed up early and worked around my family and our schedule. They went above and beyond and even finished fixing a pet door we had removed. They kept my house clean and did an impeccable job! 5 stars all the way!!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️"

"My wife and I needed some major paining done to our new condominium unit. The walls are 22’ high so we needed someone with experience. We called JMC for an estimate and Justin showed up, took measurements and assured us it would be easy for him and his crew to get it done in two days. We trusted him because you know within 20 seconds of meeting him that he is a man of integrity. It was the best decision we made because Justin is not only thorough, prompt and efficient but he’s also one the nicest people we’ve ever met. He and his crew are so considerate and professional that I know we will never use another painter again. We could not recommend JMC Painting more! They are the best. Thank you Justin and your team for making our place look brand new! Mike & Krissy Roberts"

"The job went very well.  Celso was very responsive to our questions and was able to schedule a crew to paint our house within a couple of weeks of providing an estimate.  The job took just over a week (2200 sq foot colonial) and everything looks fantastic.  He was very diligent about following up with us for a final review of the work.
Celso and his team had two years earlier stripped the interior of wallpaper and painted every room in the house and that job has held up very well.

"I used Paulo to do the interior work on my old house. The interior had a ton of trim work as you can see in the before and after photos . They were courteous, professional, wore masks and althoufh they took longer than anticipated, you can very easily tell the company cares about their work. It showed . Rather than just slap paint on the wall , they did everything they could to level the ceiling with plaster and hand sand the trim work and revarnish it . They’re doing the master bedroom as well as the master bathroom and I would not hesitate to recommend them what so ever . There is no rush and his attention to detail is amazing. Paulo was great with helping us with paint suggestions as we had no idea where to even start"

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

Your peel-and-stick wallpaper can fall off for multiple reasons, including high humidity levels, extreme temperature changes, poor installation, and even the wall surface. Textured walls can prevent the adhesive from fully sticking to the wall, making it more likely for the wallpaper to peel off. Low-quality wallpapers with weaker adhesives are also more likely to fall off prematurely.

Walls should be as smooth as possible before applying peel-and-stick wallpaper. Although you technically can apply wallpaper on textured walls, the peel-and-stick variety won’t last long without a clean, smooth surface for the adhesive to stick to. If you have textured walls, consult a pro about removing the textured finish before moving forward with wallpaper.

While peel-and-stick wallpapers require no time to cure, the adhesives for other types of papers will take a day or two to dry and up to three weeks to fully cure. The differences are the type of paper, the type of adhesive, and the humidity and temperature in the space.

To layer wallpaper over wallpaper, inspect your existing wallpaper for problem areas. Damaged wallpaper should not be covered. If it’s okay to proceed, prep by turning off the electricity and removing any outlet and switch covers. Dust your walls and lightly rinse them to prevent the existing paper from peeling. Apply primer, then apply your new wallpaper.

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.
