Small jobs welcome

"We had this company come to do insulation for our whole home - attic and walls (through Mass Save). Not only did they do what was in the original contract, but they also added insulation to our garage ceiling AND to an open wall that was being worked on for an unrelated home reno project! They did 3 days of work in 1 day & stayed late to vacuum and clean up. They were very professional, extremely efficient, and I love that it's a family operated company. Ivan, their office resource who helped book the appointment, was also a pleasure to work with throughout the process. We highly recommend using this company for any insulation needs."

"Professional crew; work was done quickly, with minimal disruption and fairly good cleanup. The house is older and the crew chief took reviewed the interior carefully to insure there would be no damage to the walls in the insulation process."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Air duct insulation typically lasts for 10 to 15 years or even longer, depending on the material and maintenance. It's important to conduct periodic inspections to check for signs of deterioration, such as water damage, tears, or general wear. If you find any of these issues, it may be time for repairs or a full replacement. You might also consider upgrading your insulation even if it's in good shape to improve your home's energy efficiency and enhance your HVAC system's performance with newer, more effective materials.

The best way to reduce heat upstairs is to release it by opening a window. Hot air rises, and if you can create some airflow by opening a window upstairs and also one on a lower level, the hot air should be pushed out of the home. Remember that fans pointing out the window do a much better job of circulating air than fans pointing into the home.

An insulated garage benefits from roof vents to ensure proper ventilation and prevent moisture buildup. Insulation can trap moisture in the garage, especially during temperature fluctuations, and roof vents play a crucial role in expelling the moisture in the air. Including roof vents promotes air circulation, preventing condensation and enhancing overall air quality.

For your safety, you should always wear a mask when cutting batts of fiberglass insulation. We also recommend wearing eye protection, safety gloves, and long sleeves to protect your skin. Properly suiting up helps you avoid several fiberglass issues, such as cuts from the tiny shards of glass and inhaling small bits of fiberglass.

If the outside temperature drops below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, it will take around six hours for your pipes to freeze—and they might even burst. That’s why keeping your mobile home’s temperature around 50 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit is necessary, even if you’re leaving it vacant for the winter. In addition, having ample skirting around the mobile home's underbelly will help keep pipes insulated during the winter.
