"Wow! Unbelievable! If we ever have a water problem again, Pioneer will be the only waterproofing company that we call. We were getting some water in our basement which has a stack-stone foundation and radiant floor heating. We interviewed three companies and were particularly concerned about a solution that would stop the water without compromising the radiant tubes that were in the floor. Initially, Pioneer recommended a baseboard system that would run along the outside of the wall. Upon inspection, Mike Oliveira discussed a traditional drain to sump pump solution. We reiterated our concern about puncturing a tube in the floor and Mike assured us that he and his team would hand chisel potential problem areas to avoid the tubing. Moreover, this solution would save us roughly $2K and give us a lifetime guarantee vs. a 25 year guarantee on the baseboard system. The team showed up on time, cleared a 50' span of concrete by Noon, uncovered two sections of radiant tubing without puncturing the line, installed the moisture barrier, sump pump and new concrete by 4 p.m. They had to drill through a hefty header board to connect the pump line to an existing drainage line that carries water away from home and that was completed by 5:30 p.m. Mike came back in a week and we tested the fix using free-flow from our sprinkler system -- it worked perfectly. Subsequently we've had some consistent spring rain and absolutely no water in the basement. 1.  As I mentioned, Dan described the project in great detail, and drew us up a carefully itemized estimate.  This helped us know what we were getting into, what parts of the project we had to understand, what the tradeoffs were, and what questions we had to ask.
2.  When I asked Dan if he carried insurance and workmens' compensation for his workers, he responded promptly and even said that he appreciated being asked this question.
3.  The crew took good care of their tools and machinery and were obviously very skilled at operating their equipment even in tricky conditions.
